THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT AT DOTT

Location: London, Nottingham, Newcastle, or Remote in any city in the UK with the ability to travel.

Availability to travel: Day trips within the UK (3 -4 times a month)

We're looking for a Public Policy Manager to support our growth in the UK and strengthen our relationships with key stakeholders, including Central Government, Cities and community partners. This role combines high-level institutional relationship-building with hands-on, detail-oriented execution — from shaping public policy conversations, producing accurate, on-time contributions to tenders and reports, and developing policy-led strategies for growing the service. The ideal candidate is as comfortable building trust with a mayor's office as they are proofreading a document the night before a deadline.

The Public Policy Manager will report to the Head of Public Policy UK/Ireland and can be based in any UK city, with preference for London, Nottingham, or Newcastle, with travel frequently across the country.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with government officials, including DfT, MPs, cities and other external stakeholders, positioning Dott as a reliable and trusted operator.

  • Manage relationships and contracts in Dott’s existing markets, working cross-functionally with operations to help make key decisions on service delivery.

  • Own Dott’s contribution to the tender application process end-to-end: defining Dott's strategic positioning, drafting accurate and timely local content, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks ahead of submission deadlines

  • Identify and prioritise expansion opportunities in the UK, and build Dott’s positioning and knowledge of local communities and their priorities

  • Support the users and the city's satisfaction, working with local operations teams on concrete improvement plans

  • Contribute to building a lasting network of partnerships around Dott, in support of the wider team's goals

  • Strategically shape market regulations in line with best-in-class standards

  • Represent Dott at public policy-related local events

  • Research and monitor the political and regulatory landscape in the UK, turning it into clear, actionable reporting for internal stakeholders

    YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in public policy/affairs. Experience in the transport and mobility sector is a plus.

  • A track record of taking full ownership of projects from start to finish, with a problem-solving attitude and strong attention to detail;

  • Experience in external relationships, negotiation and representation, ideally backed by an established network within city administrations, political parties, non-profit associations, or mobility-related public and private stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and stakeholders without losing precision

  • Strong writing skills in English (correspondence, proposals, etc.);

  • A degree in Political Science, Economics, Law or similar

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, with sound problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

  • A proactive, hands-on attitude — comfortable both setting strategy and personally getting a document or a stakeholder list over the line

  • Event management skills and a genuine passion for green mobility

  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment, across multiple teams simultaneously
