Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Property Lawyer to join a Local Authority Legal Services team on a fully remote basis for a 3-month contract. This role involves handling a diverse range of property law cases, offering expert legal counsel to officers and stakeholders, and facilitating various property transactions and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, juggle multiple priorities, and deliver practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a diverse caseload involving both commercial and residential property issues.
- Offer legal guidance to council departments, senior officers, and stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of property-related legal documents.
- Advise on acquisitions, disposals, leases, licenses, easements, wayleaves, and land transactions.
- Support projects related to regeneration, development, and asset management.
- Conduct title investigations and property due diligence.
- Draft and finalize legal agreements for property transactions.
- Provide counsel on landlord and tenant matters.
- Assist project teams with complex property-related challenges.
- Participate in remote meetings to offer legal advice as needed.
- Maintain precise case records and file management systems.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx with a valid practicing certificate.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in Property Law.
- Proficiency in handling both commercial and residential property matters.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating property agreements and legal documents.
