AI Summary

The Product Marketing Manager will own market positioning for FinOps+ and equip the sales team with effective enablement tools and competitive intelligence. They will also create product-focused content, refine buyer messaging, and represent the company as an evangelist in the broader FinOps community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Kion is hiring a Product Marketing Manager to own how the market understands FinOps+ and how our sellers win with it. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior VP of Marketing. You will work closely with Product, Sales, and Solutions Engineering to sharpen our positioning, equip the sales team to win competitive deals, and turn a technical platform into clear business value for engineering, operations, and FinOps buyers.

This role suits someone who is equally comfortable building strategy and doing the work: writing the battlecard, updating the use case web page, and joining the deal review. Over time, you will become a visible voice for Kion with customers, partners, and the broader FinOps community.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

Enable sales to win

  • Build and maintain sales enablement: positioning guides, talk tracks, objection handling, and demo narratives that reps actually use.
  • Partner with sales and solutions engineering on competitive deals, RFP and RFI responses, and win/loss insights.

Own competitive intelligence

  • Research and track the competitive landscape and translate it into clear comparison guides and battlecards.
  • Keep Sales current on competitor moves, pricing shifts, and how Kion wins.

Evolve our messaging and positioning

  • Refine FinOps+ messaging for each buyer persona, from cloud engineering and operations to FinOps practitioners.
  • Partner with Product on launches so each release ships with clear positioning, enablement, and market-facing content.

Create product content

  • Own product and use case content on our website, keeping it accurate as the platform evolves.
  • Write long-form content such as solution briefs, white papers, and guides that educate buyers and support pipeline development.

Inform pricing and packaging

  • Bring market, customer, and competitor research to pricing and packaging discussions, and recommend changes to leadership.

Be a Kion evangelist

  • Over time, represent Kion in webinars, events, customer conversations, and partner and analyst engagements.

WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING FROM YOU (I.E., THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE):

  • 5+ years of B2B product marketing experience, ideally with management or infrastructure software sold to engineering, IT, or FinOps buyers.
  • A track record of sales enablement that moved results, such as improved win rates, faster ramp, or higher adoption of enablement content. You can explain what you built and how you measured it.
  • Experience owning competitive intelligence and turning it into tools sellers use in live deals.
  • Strong writing. You can take a complex technical capability and make it clear and compelling for different audiences.
  • Technical fluency to learn the platform deeply and hold your own with product managers, solutions engineering, and customers.
  • Experience launching products or major features end to end, from positioning through enablement and market-facing content.
  • Experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, cloud governance, or multi-cloud infrastructure.
  • AI fluency. Kion has fully embraced AI, and you have a track record of using AI to speed the pace of delivery. You understand the positives and negatives of professional AI use.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving, fully remote environment where you set your own priorities and influence without authority.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation and AWS community engagement.
  • Experience with partner and cloud marketplace programs, including AWS competencies or co-sell motions.
  • Public sector or regulated-industry go-to-market motions with Federal SIs.
  • Exposure to pricing and packaging research and recommendations.
  • Experience at a startup or growth-stage company, including a period of scale or M&A.

If you meet most of these qualifications but not all, we still encourage you to apply. We hire for capability and impact, not a specific career path.

WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE IN RETURN:

  • Kion is a remote-first company. We offer a 100% remote work schedule (US only)!
  • Excellent compensation and outstanding benefits, including medical, dental and vision!
  • 3% of direct compensation contribution to your 401(k) (no match required).
  • Unlimited PTO to allow staff to spend time with friends and family.
  • Regular virtual engagements to better connect with co-workers and talk about life outside of work.
  • A small-team collaborative environment that fosters communication and innovation.

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $190,000, plus equity. Final pay depends on experience and skills.
