The Product Director, Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) is responsible for the overall business performance, P&L ownership, and strategic direction of Univar Solutions' Hydrochloric Acid product portfolio across all lines of business. This role leads product strategy, supplier partnerships, sourcing, pricing, and commercial growth initiatives to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share. The Product Director works closely with executive leadership, sales, supply chain, operations, and key supplier partners to develop and execute long-term strategies that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Own the P&L, revenue growth, margin expansion, and overall financial performance of the Hydrochloric Acid product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute portfolio strategies that align with organizational growth and profitability objectives.
  • Lead strategic supplier partnerships, contract negotiations, sourcing initiatives, pricing strategies, and rebate programs.
  • Identify and capitalize on market trends, new supplier relationships, and business development opportunities.
  • Partner with sales leadership to drive commercial strategy, market penetration, and profitable growth across all lines of business.
  • Influence and align cross-functional teams to achieve portfolio objectives and deliver business results.
  • Analyze financial, market, and competitive data to guide strategic decisions and investment priorities.
  • Serve as the executive subject matter expert for the portfolio and provide recommendations to senior leadership on growth opportunities, market risks, and supplier strategies.

 

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience in product management, strategic sourcing, business development, sales leadership, or marketing.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a significant P&L, including responsibility for revenue, pricing, profitability, and portfolio performance.
  • Proven experience leading supplier strategy, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders, suppliers, and customers.
  • Deep understanding of chemical distribution, specialty chemicals, or chemical manufacturing markets.
  • Chlor-Alkali commercial experience preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in portfolio management, pricing strategy, margin optimization, and business analytics.
  • Track record of developing and executing growth strategies that deliver measurable business results.

 

Where You'll Work:

  • This is a remote position open to candidates located within the Continental United States and may require up to 50% travel throughtout the US.

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $230,000. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, qualifications, certifications, and work location.
  • In addition to base salary, this role offers a highly competitive incentive opportunity tied to contribution margin performance and overall business results.
