The Pharmacy Technical Assistant works under the direction of the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator and the Hospital Support Services Director to provide technical support the pharmacy teams on Mercy Ships vessels.

**Compensation Range for This Position 57K- 60K annually. Compensation is based on U.S. hires and may vary depending on the employee's location.

This is a Full Time REMOTE non-exempt position that requires international travel.

How You Will Contribute:

• Maritime Health Support to each ship pharmacy
• Updates Maritime Health Pharmacy Manual and Anchor documents for Maritime Health updates affecting pharmacy workflow
• Supports Maritime Health LMS course – resets and updates staging environment for each trainee
• Resets generic inpatients in Maritime Health when software unresponsive
• Creates Maritime Health Intransit reports from Arise
• Creates Maritime Health inventory upload files
• Creates weekly Supplier Usage reports
• Will provide support to the transition from Maritime Health to new Pharmacy software
• Omnicell Support to each ship pharmacy
• Omnicell Help Desk responder for pharmacy tickets
• Updates Omnicenter database - adds items to master list or individual cabinet lists, edits or adjusts par levels and reorder levels, adds aliases
• Exports and Imports Master Item lists for ship medical supply departments
  Pharmacy Ordering-Shipping Oversight
• Uses expired medication reports and low stock reports to determine ordering needs before shortages occur- with input from Senior Pharmacists and Pharmacy Program Manager
• Reviews Emergency medications spreadsheet and MSL for each ship and determines medications to be ordered and shipped before expiration- with input from Senior Pharmacists and Pharmacy Program Manager
• Attends weekly AFM and GLM supply meetings to track shipments and communicate pharmacy issues- reports weekly shipment updates to AFM and GLM Pharmacy Teams chats
• Follows up on critical items to ensure they are on route via most expeditious route.
• Provides support to the Pharmacy Program Manager- following SCDs, container + shipment schedules, and follows-up with ISC and EDC planning teams
• Provides support to Senior Pharmacists questions regarding medication shortages, orders, and expected arrival of shipments on board
• Provides technical support for Pharmacy Program Manager and Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator when they are travelling for business or on PTO
  Vessel Support
• Participates in pharmacy restocking inventory during AMP’s
  Future help in "standing down" the AFM pharmacy and setting up the AFM II.
• Fills in for pharmacy technician on ships for last minute temporary staffing gaps
  Formulary Updates
• Updates formulary in Sharepoint with new information from P&T committee meetings provided by Pharmacy Program Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

• Fluency in written and verbal English required
• Computer skills essential- Outlook and Excel are required
• Knowledge of Omnicell and Maritime Health software systems preferred
• Prompt responses to information and requests required
• Required to be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and accurate

Education and/or Experience

• Accredited pharmacy technician program graduate
• Two years of current Pharmacy Technician experience required
• Mercy Ships experience preferred
• Certifications and Licenses
• Pharmacy Technician license required
