Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Build and maintain multi-channel recruitment pipelines for hourly hospitality staff and leadership positions.
  • Develop and communicate a compelling Employer Value Proposition to attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate practical skills assessments to evaluate candidates and reduce hiring mistakes.
  • Manage recruitment activities across multiple hotel locations and workforce levels.

Onboarding & Knowledge Management

  • Design and manage centralized digital pre-boarding and onboarding workflows.
  • Build and maintain SOP libraries and standardized onboarding documentation.
  • Ensure new hires have the information, tools, and resources needed before their first day.
  • Maintain consistent onboarding standards and brand expectations across all hotel locations.

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Manage the company's structured performance and accountability framework.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and career development pathways.
  • Coach hotel managers on providing feedback, documenting performance concerns, and managing corrective conversations.
  • Guide managers through compliant employee separation processes.

Payroll & HR Compliance

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing across multiple locations.
  • Review timecards, overtime, and labor costs to identify discrepancies and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure payroll records are accurate and processed on schedule.
  • Manage employee benefits and support compliance with applicable employment regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and records.

Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Build a positive, accountable, and service-focused workplace culture.
  • Develop employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Support career development and internal growth opportunities.
  • Identify retention challenges and implement strategies to reduce employee turnover.

Executive Partnership & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with executive leadership on people strategy and workforce planning.
  • Provide updates and insights on recruitment, retention, labor costs, and employee performance.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives that help scale hotel operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and overall team performance.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, or Talent Acquisition roles.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations in hospitality, retail, customer service, or similarly fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality staffing requirements, frontline operations, and employment compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Paylocity.
  • Experience using Notion and Google Workspace, with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and frontline employees.
  • Strong knowledge of performance management, employee relations, onboarding, and HR documentation.
  • Ability to work consistently during U.S. Central Time operational hours.
  • Reliable remote setup, including:
    • A quiet, private, dedicated workspace.
    • High-speed internet of at least 50 Mbps upload and download.
    • A documented backup plan for power and internet connectivity.

Typical Day

  • Review payroll alerts, timecard discrepancies, and compliance issues requiring attention.
  • Monitor recruitment pipelines and coordinate candidate assessments.
  • Prepare offer letters and support hiring decisions.
  • Meet with hotel managers to discuss employee performance and workforce needs.
  • Coach managers on feedback, corrective conversations, and documentation.
  • Update onboarding checklists, SOPs, and internal HR resources in Notion.
  • Coordinate with executive leadership on workforce priorities and people strategy.
  • Address urgent employee matters while maintaining progress on long-term HR initiatives.
