About the Role

As our Park Consultant for Montana, you'll own new-business development across the territory, working with parks and recreation departments, school districts, municipalities, developers, and others who build public spaces. You'll find the opportunities, lead the conversations, and guide each customer from first meeting to finished project.

You won't do it alone. Our in-house design, quoting, and project teams produce the drawings, pricing, and logistics behind every proposal, so you can spend your time in front of customers. This is a hunter's role in a territory with plenty of room to grow. In your first year, you'll build relationships with the key decision-makers at every major park district and school district in Montana and develop a pipeline that supports steady, repeatable growth

What You Will Do:

• Build the territory: Identify and pursue new customers through research, calls, email, site visits, and networking. Attend community meetings, pre-bid meetings, and local events where public-space projects take shape.
• Consult and recommend: Run discovery conversations and site visits to understand each project’s scope, budget, timeline, and decision-makers, then work with our design team to recommend the right mix of play equipment, surfacing, and amenities.
• Win the work: Present proposals and product options in person and virtually. Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and public bids with support from our quoting team, making sure submissions are accurate, competitive, compliant, and on time.
• Manage your pipeline: Keep Salesforce current with leads, opportunities, and activity. Set weekly, monthly, and annual goals, forecast accurately, and report on your pipeline in regular sales meetings.
• Stay with the project: Remain the customer’s main point of contact after the sale, working with our project and installation teams to resolve issues quickly and deliver on time and to specification.
• Grow accounts: Turn completed projects into repeat business and referrals, and keep an eye on competitors so NPEI stays the preferred choice.
• Represent NPEI: Attend regional and national trade shows and parks and recreation conferences, and lead lunch-and-learns and presentations for customers and design professionals.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: 4+ years of B2B outside sales, ideally in construction, commercial landscape, outdoor recreation, or selling to public agencies. Experience with RFPs, RFQs, and public bids is a strong plus.
• Plans and construction: Comfortable reading construction plans, specifications, and take-offs, or able to learn quickly with support from our design team. A basic understanding of construction processes.
• Skills: Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Able to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize well.
• Tools: Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and quick to learn new systems.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• Location and travel: Must live in the Montana territory. Travel is 60–75% of the time, mostly day trips by car within the territory, with occasional overnights. About 5–10% of travel is outside the territory for trade shows and company meetings.
• Driving: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle with current insurance.
• Physical: Able to walk active job sites and uneven terrain, and to carry product samples and trade-show materials.

Salary: Base salary of $60,000.00 Plus commission. Expected first-year total earnings of $85,000.00+.
