Our Organizational Change Management (OCM) practice plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our clients’ digital transformation initiatives

The OCM Team Lead is a player-coach role responsible for both delivering organizational change management engagements and leading a team of OCM consultants. The Team Lead spends the majority of their time as a hands-on delivery consultant (the “player”) and a minority of their time leading, developing, and supporting their team, supporting sales and presales, advancing the OCM practice, and executing new OCM strategies, offers and updates from CX leadership while communicating them clearly to the OCM team (the “coach”). The Team Lead reports directly to the OCM Manager and will begin with three direct reports, with potential for team growth based on business need. This role may be filled through internal promotion from the existing OCM team.

Role Structure: The Player-Coach Model

Player (Delivery): A target of approximately 60% of time spent on billable project delivery, with a ceiling of 70% so that leadership and enablement responsibilities are protected.

Coach (Leadership, Sales & Enablement): The remaining time (approximately 40%) is dedicated to leading and developing the team, supporting sales and presales, and advancing the practice, including serving as the Copilot / AI Adoption subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Host regular 1:1s and team meetings to align the team, remove blockers, and build connection.
  • Recruit and hire for the team as openings arise, with support from the OCM Manager.
  • Conduct performance reviews and hold corrective conversations as needed, with support from the OCM Manager.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop consultants, building skills, growing careers, and supporting onboarding of new hires.
  • Drive team retention and engagement, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Approve and monitor paid time off, ensuring team members take adequate rest and maintain work/life balance under the company’s open PTO policy.

Capacity Planning & Resource Management

  • Plan team capacity and forecast resource needs across the project portfolio.
  • Staff consultants to engagements, balancing workload and utilization across the team.
  • Track and approve the team’s time, update project hours, and maintain delivery forecasting.

Project Delivery — Player Role (~60%, ceiling 70%)

  • Deliver OCM engagements as a hands-on consultant on a reduced project load.
  • Apply a structured change management methodology; assess change readiness and impact; and identify, analyze, and manage risk.
  • Coach client senior leaders, project teams, and champion groups on effective change strategies and tactics.
  • Plan and produce OCM deliverables across the core levers: Program Charter, Success Criteria / Gap Analysis, Communication Approach & Strategy, Effort / Satisfaction / ROI, Training Strategy, and Change Reinforcement Strategy.
  • Integrate change management activities into overarching project plans and deliver on time, on budget, and in scope.

Sales & Presales Support

  • Attend and support presales activities, including scoping and discovery.
  • Write Rough Order of Magnitude estimates (ROMs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) where needed.
  • Develop new OCM sales offers, with particular emphasis on Copilot and AI adoption.
  • Educate and enable the sales and delivery teams on OCM offerings through regular updates and coaching.
  • Identify and research new opportunities, contributing to lead generation and pipeline growth.

Copilot / AI Adoption Subject Matter Expert (SME)

  • Serve as the practice’s subject matter expert on Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven adoption.
  • Stay current on Copilot updates and the broader AI adoption landscape, translating changes into practical guidance.
  • Share updates with the team and the broader organization on a regular cadence.
  • Build new content, templates, and enablement materials that reflect the latest Copilot capabilities.
  • Keep existing training and adoption content up to date as the product evolves.
  • Partner with sales to shape Copilot / AI adoption offers and support related pursuits.

How Success Is Measured

The OCM Team Lead owns and is measured against the following team-level outcomes:

  • Team utilization — healthy, sustainable utilization across the consultant team.
  • Delivery quality — measured through client CSAT scores, with attention to specific feedback and comments related to OCM.
  • Level of sales support — the quality and impact of contributions to scoping, ROM / SOW development, and new offers, especially around Copilot and AI adoption.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency and adeptness in organizational change management delivery (no minimum number of years required).
  • Strong command of OCM principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience driving end-user adoption within Microsoft ecosystems such as Teams, SharePoint, Office, and Copilot.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, apply critical thinking, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional active listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
