Mid Data Engineer

Nexaminds is actively seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to building and enhancing our data engineering framework, helping develop a clear and concise data model that supports data science, ETLs, internal tools, and self-service data solutions.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a team focused on making data more accessible and actionable, while designing and building scalable data engineering solutions to solve business and data problems.

Location: Mexico (Remote)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a closely related field, with strong experience in data modeling and data job development.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Spark, dbt, Fivetran, and Airflow to access an S3 data warehouse.
• Experience with AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools, and an interest in using them to understand and build software.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally and gathering input from stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify and move complex problems forward.
• Production-level coding experience in Python and SQL.
• Innovative mindset and willingness to take on new challenges and learn from potential failure.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the data engineering framework.
• Help build infrastructure that centralizes ETL logic and metric definitions.
• Design and build scalable data engineering solutions to solve business and data problems.
• Contribute to the development of a clear and concise data model supporting data science, ETLs, and internal tools.
• Help develop self-service data and tools that facilitate scalable decision-making.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to gather input and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute ideas and technical solutions that support impactful, data-driven directions.
• Use AI coding agents to understand existing systems and build software.
• Contribute to a culture of technical collaboration and scalable development.
• Work on projects with visibility across the organization and help reduce friction in how teams use data.
