Who we are

Aquila, a group within Constellation Software Inc., one of North America’s largest and most respected software companies, invests in category-defining B2B and B2G software businesses globally, providing long-term support and strategic guidance. Emphasys Software has been part of Aquila since 2008.

Operating across five specialized divisions, Emphasys provides mission-critical software that modernizes and streamlines complex processes for housing authorities, lenders, and government agencies in nearly every state. Through both products and services, Emphasys helps house roughly half of the families most in need in the country.

At Emphasys PHA, a division of Emphasys, we develop and support industry-leading software designed specifically for Public Housing Authorities across the United States. As a trusted provider in the affordable housing sector, our solutions help PHAs efficiently manage operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver critical housing services to families and individuals in need. From applicant intake to rent calculations and unit inspections, our platform supports the full lifecycle of public housing programs—empowering agencies to focus on their mission of providing safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, we are hiring a Marketing Specialist to help redefine how Emphasys PHA shows up in the public housing industry. As our new Marketing Specialist, you will take ownership of our marketing presence across channels, campaigns, events, email, social media, and digital content. You will build awareness among housing authorities, industry influencers, government stakeholders, and prospective clients, helping us reach audiences we have historically underserved while strengthening engagement with existing customers. You will leverage AI and modern marketing tools to increase efficiency, test new ideas, and scale output, while applying the critical thinking and storytelling skills needed to create content that resonates with real people. You will be trusted to experiment, learn quickly, measure results, and continuously refine your approach based on what the data tells you.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States. Candidates should be able to maintain reasonable overlap with Eastern Time business hours to support collaboration with colleagues, clients, and industry partners.

What’s in it for you

Purpose-driven work with meaningful impact. You will help amplify the voice of organizations that provide critical housing services to individuals, families, and communities across the United States. By shaping how Emphasys engages with housing authorities, industry leaders, and government stakeholders, you will contribute to a mission that helps agencies operate more effectively and better serve those who rely on affordable housing programs.

A chance to transform and build. This is not a role focused on maintaining the status quo. You will have the opportunity to help modernize and elevate the marketing function of a well-established industry leader with a 50-year legacy. From expanding our digital presence and experimenting with new channels to strengthening brand awareness and generating measurable pipeline growth, your ideas, creativity, and execution will directly influence how we show up in the market.

Autonomy, innovation, and room to grow. You will have the freedom to test new approaches, leverage AI and emerging marketing technologies, and bring fresh thinking to how we engage our audience. Working closely with Sales, Client Services, and leadership, you will have visibility into the impact of your work, ownership over key initiatives, and the opportunity to grow alongside a business that is actively investing in its future.

As our new Marketing Specialist, you will:

  • Elevate our brand and expand our market presence. You will help increase awareness of Emphasys PHA across the public housing ecosystem, ensuring we are visible, relevant, and part of the conversations that matter. You will identify opportunities to strengthen our digital presence, expand our reach to new audiences, and position Emphasys as a trusted industry leader through thoughtful, modern marketing strategies.

  • Create compelling content and campaigns that drive engagement. You will develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, social media, events, digital channels, and other emerging platforms. Leveraging strong storytelling skills, you will transform complex industry topics, product updates, and company initiatives into engaging content that resonates with prospects, clients, and industry stakeholders.

  • Build and optimize demand generation programs. Working closely with Sales and Client Services, you will help generate qualified pipeline through targeted campaigns, lead nurturing programs, event promotion, and marketing automation. You will continuously evaluate performance, measure attribution, and use data-driven insights to improve campaign effectiveness and support business growth.

  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to scale impact. You will embrace AI as a strategic tool, using it to accelerate content creation, campaign development, research, and operational efficiency while applying critical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to ensure outputs are aligned with our brand, goals, and audience needs.

  • Experiment, learn, and continuously improve. You will bring curiosity and a willingness to challenge conventional approaches. Whether testing new channels, exploring new content formats, evaluating audience engagement, or piloting innovative campaigns, you will use data, feedback, and market insights to optimize performance and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Lead event marketing and industry engagement. You will support conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, and user events from planning through post-event follow-up. You will develop promotional campaigns, create supporting materials, coordinate communications, and help maximize the value and impact of our industry presence.

  • Collaborate across teams to drive business outcomes. You will partner with Sales, Client Services, Product, Support, and leadership teams to align marketing initiatives with business priorities. You will share insights, contribute ideas, build internal relationships, and help ensure our marketing efforts support both client retention and new business growth.

You bring:

  • The modern marketing expertise. You have experience in B2B, SaaS, technology, or a similarly complex environment where you have been responsible for building awareness, generating demand, executing campaigns, and measuring results. You understand how marketing contributes to pipeline growth and can connect activities to business outcomes through data, attribution, and analytics.

  • The storyteller's mindset. You know how to turn complex ideas into compelling stories that capture attention and drive engagement. More importantly, you know what makes content resonate. Whether created by a person or generated by AI, you can identify what is missing, refine the message, and ensure it reflects the voice, values, and goals of the organization. You understand that great marketing combines data, creativity, and human connection.

  • The curiosity and adaptability. You are naturally inquisitive and enjoy understanding how things work. You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and seek out new approaches. You are excited by emerging technologies, evolving platforms, and changing audience behaviours. Rather than relying solely on what has worked in the past, you continuously test, learn, and adapt your approach based on results.

  • The ability to thrive in ambiguity. You are comfortable moving forward without perfect information. You know how to balance strategy with action, launching campaigns, gathering insights, and refining your approach as you learn. You are resourceful, decisive, and able to make progress in environments where priorities evolve and opportunities emerge quickly.

  • The AI fluency. You view AI as a strategic tool rather than a shortcut. You understand how to leverage AI to accelerate research, content creation, campaign development, and operational efficiency while applying critical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to ensure quality outcomes. You are eager to explore new tools and technologies that help improve marketing effectiveness and scale impact.

  • The campaign and demand generation experience. You have experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across channels, including email, digital marketing, social media, events, content marketing, and marketing automation. You understand audience segmentation, lead nurturing, conversion metrics, and how to create programs that support both awareness and pipeline growth.

  • The relationship-building and communication skills. You are an exceptional communicator who can collaborate effectively across teams and levels of an organization. You can influence without authority, build trust with stakeholders, and translate marketing concepts into clear business value.

  • The ownership and accountability. You are highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a remote environment. You take ownership of outcomes, follow through on commitments, and are motivated by making a measurable impact through your work.
