Position:  Manager, Organizational Change

Location: Remote

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Position Overview

The Manager, Organizational Change leads the execution of the change management strategy across the organization, including a portfolio of enterprise, cross-cutting projects — significant initiatives that span multiple divisions and in support of UNICEF USA’s Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Managing Director, People & Culture, the Manager builds and runs the change plans, stakeholder communications, and adoption tracking that ensure major initiatives are not just delivered, but understood, adopted, and sustained.

The Manager will work in close partnership with the Managing Director, People & Culture and with advisement from the Chief of Staff, who serve as the strategic leads for the function. The Manager will shape and drive the change approach; the role applies a consistent, structured methodology (such as Prosci/ADKAR) across the portfolio and partners closely with initiative owners and communications colleagues to make change sustainable. All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Managing Director, People and Culture.

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise-Wide Initiatives (60%)

  • Provide change and adoption support for priority initiatives for enterprise, cross-cutting projects, with each initiative’s scope and decisions owned by its respective program lead.
  • Develop and execute change management plans using existing resources to complete stakeholder analysis, change-impact and risk assessment, readiness evaluation, resistance management, and reinforcement and sustainment planning.
  • Partner with initiative and project leads to integrate change management plans into project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Plan and manage organization-level stakeholder communications for in-scope initiatives, working in close coordination with the Assistant Director, People & Culture Generalist — who owns P&C and operations internal communications — so that change and functional communications are aligned and non-duplicative.
  • Support UUSA Chief of Staff in ensuring enterprise-level alignment for change through assisted initiative prioritization and sequencing, and helping ensure change principles are applied consistently.

Change Strategy Execution (40%)

  • Apply a consistent change management methodology (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) across portfolio of enterprise, cross-cutting projects, scaling the depth and approach to the size of each initiative.
  • Maintain and optimize the enterprise change management system ensuring change data stays centralized and embedded into systems, processes, and culture.
  • Build and maintain effective resources to support change initiatives for the change network and organizational stakeholders.
  • Oversee the change ticketing system, referring staff to self-service resources or assigning to change advisors based on relevancy and capacity.
  • Track and report on adoption, usage, and resistance indicators; monitor change health across the portfolio and recommend course corrections.
  • Support the Change Management Network in change execution across divisions extending reach and consistency of change practices.
  • Maintain a change-champion culture organization-wide, embedding support for and reinforcement of change into existing processes and ways of working.
  • Partner with Professional Learning & Leadership Development to design and deliver training and enablement where initiatives require new capabilities or ways of working.
  • Design reinforcement mechanisms and feedback loops that drive sustained adoption well beyond initial launch.
  • Contribute to building UUSA’s internal change management capability, standards, and tools over time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and four to six years of progressively responsible experience in change management, organizational development, project management, or a related field.
  • Formal change management certification (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing change management plans for cross-functional or enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse groups without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience defining and tracking adoption and change-health metrics, and using data to inform course corrections.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a dynamic, evolving environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Technology-forward mindset; experience supporting technology or AI adoption is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • High degree of discretion, sound judgment, and a collaborative, problem-solving orientation.
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to UNICEF USA’s mission and to advancing outcomes for children.
