This position serves as the primary subject matter expert for Stratus and related fabrication technologies while ensuring accurate spool development, fabrication readiness, production tracking, labor productivity reporting, and manufacturing performance analytics. The role bridges Engineering, BIM/VDC, Project Management, Procurement, and Fabrication operations to drive efficiency, consistency, repeatability, and scalable manufacturing processes for modular construction and fabrication work.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Fabrication Analytics and Business Intelligence
- Own and manage fabrication, production, labor, and operational analytics for ModCon and FabCon.
- Develop, maintain, and improve dashboards, scorecards, KPI reports, and executive-level reporting tools used for operational decision-making.
- Analyze productivity metrics including diameter-inch production, labor productivity, throughput, backlog, schedule performance, quality trends, and fabrication cycle time.
- Establish data governance standards to improve data accuracy, reporting consistency, and trust in manufacturing performance metrics.
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities using production and project data.
- Stratus Administration and Digital Fabrication
- Serve as the primary Stratus subject matter expert and system owner for fabrication workflow support.
- Develop and maintain standards for spool management, fabrication tracking, assembly tracking, production visibility, and shop-floor coordination.
- Support implementation, user adoption, user training, and ongoing optimization of fabrication technology platforms.
- Troubleshoot data, workflow, and process issues related to Stratus and interconnected fabrication systems.
- Partner with leadership to define digital manufacturing standards that support repeatable execution across ModCon and FabCon.
- BIM/VDC and Pipe Spooling Leadership
- Lead pipe spooling efforts from design development through fabrication release.
- Review models, drawings, spool packages, BOMs, cut lists, and spool maps for constructability, completeness, fabrication sequencing, and shop readiness.
- Develop spool standards and spooling best practices for piping fabrication and modular construction.
- Direct, coach, and teach personnel in pipe spooling concepts, spool-break strategy, fabrication constraints, and release-for-fabrication expectations.
- Work closely with BIM/VDC personnel to improve spool accuracy, consistency, quality, and fabrication efficiency.
- Multi-Trade Systems and Fabrication Coordination
- Apply working knowledge of mechanical piping, mechanical duct, plumbing, electrical coordination, and modular systems to support integrated fabrication planning.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Fabrication teams to ensure packages are complete and aligned with shop capabilities.
- Support modular central utility plant, skid, rack, piping, duct, plumbing, and multi-trade fabrication execution.
- Provide technical guidance regarding fabrication methods, production constraints, sequencing, and manufacturing best practices.
- Training, Standards, and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and deliver training on Stratus, Revit-supported fabrication workflows, pipe spooling, production analytics, and digital manufacturing standards.
- Create repeatable work instructions, templates, reports, and reference materials to support knowledge transfer and onboarding.
- Mentor BIM/VDC, fabrication, project, and support personnel to improve digital fabrication maturity.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives that reduce rework, improve schedule reliability, and strengthen shop-floor visibility.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction, fabrication, BIM/VDC, modular construction, manufacturing operations, or related technical operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Stratus software in a fabrication or spooling environment.
