This is a remote position.
Our client is looking for a Full-Time Junior Estimator to support estimating, bid preparation, government contracting opportunities, insurance-related projects, and vendor coordination within their construction operations. Their company operates in the property restoration and construction industry, supporting residential improvement and general construction projects across multiple service areas while continuing to expand their capabilities.
The Junior Estimator will play an important role in identifying opportunities, preparing accurate estimates, supporting bid submissions, and coordinating with vendors to gather the information needed for competitive proposals. This position is ideal for someone early in their estimating career who is highly organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working with numbers, project information, and construction documentation.
The ideal candidate has strong spoken and written English, communicates clearly, takes initiative without requiring constant direction, and approaches their work with a data-driven mindset. They should also be dependable, receptive to feedback, and interested in building a stable long-term relationship with the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of construction estimates, bids, and project proposals.
- Review project information, plans, scopes of work, specifications, and supporting documentation to identify estimating requirements.
- Research government contracting opportunities and identify bids that align with the company's services and capabilities.
- Support the preparation and writing of government contract bids and related submission materials.
- Assist with insurance-related construction estimates and documentation.
- Use Xactimate to prepare, review, and update estimates for applicable construction and insurance-related projects.
- Use iGUIDE information and documentation to support measurements, project evaluation, and estimating activities.
- Research materials, labor, subcontractor services, and other project costs required to develop accurate estimates.
- Contact vendors and suppliers to request pricing, availability, product information, and other details needed for bids.
- Compare vendor quotes and maintain organized pricing information for current and future estimating needs.
- Communicate with vendors, internal team members, and other relevant contacts to clarify project requirements and obtain missing information.
- Track bid opportunities, estimating activities, deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, vendor communications, bid documentation, and supporting information.
- Use data to evaluate estimating and bidding activities and help measure results.
- Follow up proactively on pending information, quotes, or documentation to keep bids moving forward.
- Assist with updating estimates when project scopes, pricing, or other requirements change.
- Communicate effectively through WhatsApp and other company-approved communication channels.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple estimates and bid deadlines.
- Incorporate feedback from supervisors and continuously improve estimating and bidding processes.
- Support additional estimating, construction, and project-related activities as needed.
Requirements
- Experience or foundational knowledge in construction estimating.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, materials, labor, scopes of work, and project costing.
- High level of spoken and written English proficiency.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to review project information and translate requirements into organized estimates.
- Proactive, self-directed approach with a willingness to research and solve problems independently.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction estimating, project estimating, construction coordination, or a related field is preferred.
- Exposure to insurance claims or insurance restoration estimating is highly valuable.
- Familiarity with government contracting, including searching for opportunities and preparing bid responses, is preferred.
- Experience conducting vendor outreach and collecting pricing information is preferred.
- Experience with Xactimate is highly valuable.
- Familiarity with iGUIDE or similar property measurement/documentation technology is beneficial.
- Comfortable using WhatsApp for professional communication and coordination.
- Ability to interpret construction scopes, measurements, project documentation, and cost information.
- Strong research skills, particularly for sourcing vendors, pricing, and bid opportunities.
