The Opportunity
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for building, leading, coaching, and developing a new team of Inside Sales Consultants focused on driving revenue growth, expanding customer relationships, and increasing market penetration across assigned territories. This role is accountable for achieving team sales objectives through effective leadership, performance management, pipeline development, forecasting, and execution of TCM’s sales strategy.
What You’ll Do
Leadership and Team Development
Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop a team of Inside Sales Consultants.
Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer success, continuous improvement, and achievement of sales goals.
Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, team meetings, call reviews, and performance evaluations.
Develop individualized coaching and development plans to enhance sales effectiveness and career growth.
Reinforce consultative selling methodologies, territory management best practices, and customer engagement strategies.
Recognize and reward high performance while proactively addressing performance gaps.
Sales Performance and Revenue Growth
Lead the team in achieving or exceeding revenue, pipeline, activity, and customer engagement goals.
Monitor and manage sales performance through established KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Drive pipeline creation and opportunity progression through effective prospecting, account planning, and territory management.
Ensure consistent execution of outbound sales activities, customer follow-up, and opportunity management.
Partner with consultants on strategic opportunities and high-value accounts to support successful outcomes.
Analyze territory performance and recommend adjustments to improve productivity and growth.
Sales Operations and Forecasting
Manage sales forecasting processes and provide accurate revenue projections to leadership.
Ensure consistent CRM utilization, data integrity, opportunity management, and sales reporting.
Develop and monitor sales activity metrics, pipeline health, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the business and implement action plans accordingly.
Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve team effectiveness.
Customer and Market Engagement
Maintain a strong understanding of educational trends, instructional priorities, funding opportunities, and market dynamics.
Support consultants in developing relationships with district administrators, curriculum leaders, instructional coaches, and other decision-makers.
Assist in the development and execution of strategic account plans for key customers and growth opportunities.
Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation campaigns, customer outreach initiatives, and promotional programs.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Sales Leadership to establish goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
Provide market feedback and customer insights to Product Management, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
Support organizational initiatives, product launches, and sales enablement programs.
Foster strong collaboration across departments to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring
5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in education materials, EdTech, publishing, or related industries.
2+ years of sales leadership, coaching, or team management experience.
Demonstrated success achieving revenue goals and leading high-performing sales teams.
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience with CRM platforms, sales analytics, forecasting, and pipeline management.
Strong virtual selling and coaching experience.
Flexible with time zones
Ability to travel up to 10-20% for team meetings, customer events, conferences, and training.
