Position Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Rapid City home office. The HR Generalist would be responsible for various functions within the Human Resources department, including assisting with talent management, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, reporting, and the administration of company policies.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use HR software to manage employee records, benefits, leaves, and compliance administration
- Organize digital copies of employee records in assigned software
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to performance evaluations
- Support employees with efficient problem-solving when any human resources issues arise
- Communicate with other departments as needed
- Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees’ safety
- Oversee employee labor and HR federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Review, select resumes, and assist or conduct interviews and hiring processes and update database
- Assist in the coordination of staffing and recruitment processes
- Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employees’ orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience
- Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster a positive employer-employee relations
- Participate in employee engagement committee
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectives
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements and conducting investigations
- Arrange seminars, workshops, additional HR training, and conferences based on each department’s needs
- Back up for front desk operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
- At least one year of experience in labor relations and compliance.
- At least one year of experience in compensation or benefits programs.
- Experience in performance management.
- Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, leadership, and diverse stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to prepare clear reports, documentation, and presentations
- Sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software and HR systems
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform general administrative tasks
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions in challenging situations
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and general office practices, with the ability to quickly learn new processes and systems
