Role Overview
Rho Nutrition is seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to partner closely with our VP of HR in building and scaling a high-performing people function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Reporting directly to the VP of HR, the HR Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of people operations across the employee lifecycle, including payroll, benefits, leave administration, onboarding and offboarding, HR systems, compliance, and HR programs.

Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Partner closely with the VP of HR to execute Rho's people strategy while leading the day-to-day HR function.
- Own the execution and continuous improvement of HR operations across the employee lifecycle.
- Develop, document, and optimize HR policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Payroll and Benefits
- Own payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve payroll processes.
- Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, annual open enrollment, and employee communications.
HRIS & Employee Data Management
- Own administration of the HRIS (Rippling preferred), ensuring accurate employee records and data integrity.
- Maintain HR reporting, dashboards, and workforce metrics.
- Support audits and compliance reporting.
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Lead all onboarding activities, ensuring new hires have a seamless, engaging, and organized experience.
- Coordinate offer documentation, new hire paperwork, system setup, orientation, and cross-functional onboarding activities.
- Manage employee offboarding, including exit interviews, documentation, systems access, final payroll coordination, and benefits communications.
Leave Management and Compliance
- Manage all leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leave programs, disability, parental leave, and workers' compensation, as applicable.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, payroll, and benefit providers throughout the leave process.
- Maintain compliant documentation and ensure timely communication throughout each leave.
- Stay current on changing employment laws and recommend policy or process updates.
HR Programs and Continuous Improvement
- Support performance management, employee engagement, recognition, and talent development initiatives.
- Assist with recruiting coordination and hiring processes as needed.
- Partner with the VP of HR on initiatives, special projects, and organizational programs.
Qualifications and Experience

5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including ownership of core HR operations.
- Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, leave management, HRIS, and HR compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience administering HRIS platforms (Rippling preferred).
- Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a consumer products, ecommerce, manufacturing, or high-growth startup environment.
- Experience implementing HR systems or improving HR operational processes.
- Experience managing benefit vendors and external HR partners.
- Familiarity with compensation administration and performance management programs.

Compensation: $125-135k depending on experience
