About BrightLink

BrightLink provides technology for credentialing organizations, helping professional bodies streamline exam delivery and credential management. Our mission is to improve the systems and processes these organizations rely on when putting candidates to the test. We bring deep experience in credentialing and assessment technology, and we are building a more focused go-to-market operation to extend our reach.

Position Summary

BrightLink is hiring a hands-on Head of Marketing to build and lead our commercial marketing function. Marketing work is already happening across our website, conferences, sponsorships, content, and sales support. This role will bring that work under one plan, with clear priorities, and a measurable connection to pipeline and customer growth.

The role will set the strategy and execute the work product and bring in specialist contractors when needed. We are looking for someone who can build a disciplined marketing operation without assuming that success requires a large team, a major media budget, or heavy agency support.

The role will work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and company leadership. The job is to put BrightLink’s customer evidence, product expertise, industry relationships, and conference presence to better commercial use. Success will show up in stronger target-account engagement, better sales opportunities, pipeline progress, customer expansion, and more productive use of seller time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and own BrightLink’s marketing strategy, operating plan, budget, and reporting cadence.
  • Define priority audiences, market segments, buyer journeys, funnel stages, and marketing contribution goals with Sales leadership.
  • Execute clear positioning and messaging for BrightLink and its product portfolio. Work with Product to keep external claims accurate and grounded in what our products do.
  • Plan and run focused campaigns with a defined audience, offer, owner, follow-up plan, and intended commercial outcome.
  • Work with Sales to create better reasons for target accounts to engage and to improve the flow from marketing activity to accepted opportunities.
  • Establish practical campaign tracking and attribution. Give leadership a clear view of how marketing investments relate to account engagement, pipeline, and customer growth.
  • Manage conferences, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities as a coordinated commercial portfolio rather than a series of logistics projects.
  • Improve website conversion paths and create useful ways for prospective buyers to engage before they are ready for a sales conversation.
  • Turn customer evidence, product knowledge, market insight, and executive perspectives into content that supports campaigns and sales conversations.
  • Bring in contractors for specialist work such as design, video, technical SEO, or paid media when there is a specific need and a clear reason for the investment.
  • Build responsible AI-assisted workflows for research, drafting, repurposing, account preparation, event administration, and reporting. Use AI to shorten production time, not to replace judgment or fact-checking.
  • Track marketing spend and connect material costs to a specific audience, campaign, event, or business objective.
  • Create a test-and-learn discipline. Expand work that produces useful commercial evidence and change or stop work that does not.
  • In the first 90 days, establish a clear baseline, launch at least two focused campaigns, improve account and campaign tracking, and recommend a twelve-month plan and budget based on what the team learns.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of B2B marketing experience, including work with SaaS or technology companies that have complex sales cycles.
  • Experience building or improving a marketing function, demand program, or commercial operating model.
  • A record of turning company strategy and product capabilities into useful positioning, campaigns, content, and sales support.
  • Strong working knowledge of pipeline marketing, account-based programs, campaign measurement, and attribution.
  • Experience marketing in a focused or relationship-driven market where buying cycles are long and inbound volume is only one part of the growth strategy.
  • Hands-on proficiency with marketing automation and CRM platform, including campaign tracking, lifecycle stages, source data, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Experience choosing, planning, and evaluating conferences, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities against business goals.
  • Strong writing and editing skills. You can make complex product and market information clear without overstating the case.
  • Sound budget judgment and the ability to make tradeoffs when time, people, and money are limited.
  • Experience managing and developing marketing staff while remaining involved in execution.
  • The ability to work closely and constructively with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and company leadership.
  • Practical experience using AI in marketing workflows, along with good judgment about accuracy, brand standards, customer evidence, and responsible use.
  • A high degree of ownership and accountability in a remote working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience marketing enterprise software and services to credentialing organizations, certification bodies, licensing boards, professional associations, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of the assessment, testing, credentialing, or professional licensure technology market.
  • Experience reaching executive and operational buyers through an account-based or consultative go-to-market model.
  • Experience building a lean marketing team and deciding when additional staff, contractors, tools, or channel investments are warranted.
  • Familiarity with technical SEO, measured paid-media testing, website conversion, and customer marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health and vision benefits
  • 401(k) and company matching
