JLL - Global Sustainability Reporting, Disclosure & Compliance Lead (P3-4)
Location: Anywhere in the US
Work Schedule: Remote, M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
Reports to: Global Integration & Program Management Lead
Estimated base salary range: $83,000 - $103,000
What this job involves:
The Global Sustainability Reporting, Disclosure and Compliance Lead will join JLL's Sustainability Operations team to support the delivery of energy and sustainability products and services for the client account. This role serves as the primary point of delivery and accountability for our client comprehensive sustainability data management, reporting, and disclosure program. It will encompass program administration, data collection and coordination, metric development and analysis, data quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Specifically, this role will:
- Lead JLL’s delivery of client Operations Sustainability data program, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals and requirements
- Deliver and oversee sustainability data management solutions, including greenhouse gas accounting, utility tracking, environmental reporting platforms, documentation, and program governance.
- Oversee the collection process of sustainability data for external reporting requests, ensuring that data is timely, accurate, and audit-ready
- Support client in the preparation of their external annual Sustainable Impact Report and responses to sustainability information requests from external stakeholders such as rating agencies, investors, and rankings, among others, such as CDP.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve JLL's processes and structure around external sustainability reporting support to ensure consistent, accurate and timely sustainability information as well as auditable and efficient reporting processes
- Identify, advise on, and implement new sustainability reporting and disclosure practices, based on a deep understanding of requirements
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Manages external sustainability reporting and disclosure activities, focusing on increasing information relevance and quality
- Support client accounts in their annual Sustainable Impact Report preparation, including information and data gathering, content development and external assurance. Ensure alignment with sustainability disclosure and compliance requirements and best practices. Identify potential challenges and proactively manages them to ensure on time and quality deliverables.
- Oversees the preparation of responses to inquiries from relevant sustainability rating agencies and other organizations, such as CDP, DJSI, RE100, US EPA Green Power Partner Program, CSRD, etc.
- Manages internal and external sustainability information request ensuring quality of deliverables in line with company standard and positions and ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Point of contact for internal client inquiries regarding annual sustainability performance data and information. Supports relevant functions with sustainability performance information.
- Collaborate closely with the business and key internal leaders, data owners, technical functions, internal audit and external assurance providers to maintain a well-controlled, standardized internal reporting processes for sustainability and ensure accurate and timely reporting and disclosure of the annual sustainability data and information.
- Continuously works toward improving the sustainability reporting processes and related internal control environment to ensure sustainability data reliability and accuracy. Works closely with team members, functions and business units to implement robust, audit-proof reporting processes and internal controls.
- Ensures Standard Operation Procedures and other documentation supporting sustainability reporting activities are in place, follow best practice and properly maintained. Own and maintain clients Carbon Accounting Manual and Water Account Manual, among other SOPs and documentation.
- Creates internal alignment and awareness within the functions and governance structures regarding the preparation of the annual reports and other submissions, reporting process, reporting requirements and action plans to improve sustainability reporting and disclosure.
- Track emerging sustainability regulations and trends and monitor disclosure standards (e.g., SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs, CDP, DJSI, GHG Protocol, SBTi); provides foresight and advises on necessary actions regarding new sustainability reporting and disclosure trends, requirements and regulations that may impact client and its position in the industry and support strategy development to address them/meet requirements.
- Leads and/or support implementation of projects aimed at improving sustainability reporting and disclosure at client.
- Provides strategic oversight of environmental accounting system administration, ensuring the platform supports clients sustainability reporting cycle, maintains audit readiness, and integrates effectively with clients reporting applications and data feeds.
- Oversees utility data program management across multiple data streams (electricity, natural gas, water, waste, refrigerants), ensuring comprehensive data capture, validation, and quality assurance processes meet audit and assurance requirements.
- Manages the development and refinement of extrapolation methodologies for non-directly-tracked sites, ensuring accuracy improvements and documentation sufficient to support third-party assurance audits.
- Coordinates with global and regional sustainability managers, IFM suppliers, and data providers to maintain data program alignment, address site-level changes, and ensure timely resolution of data quality issues.
- Lead quarterly self-audit processes for operations sustainability data, ensuring backup documentation is audit-ready and variance analyses are conducted with root-cause identification.
- Oversees the coordination and execution of third-party assurance audit activities, including preparation of all required documentation, system access provisioning, response to auditor inquiries, and management of global and regional audit teams.
- Manages performance against defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for data accuracy, on-time deliverables, and audit quality, presenting quarterly performance dashboards and remediation plans to client stakeholders.
- Oversees automation initiatives for sustainability data collection, reporting, and disclosure processes (including CSRD, CDP, DJSI submissions) to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data quality.
- Collaborates, supports and shares knowledge with team member to ensure sustainability team priorities are achieved.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in greenhouse gas accounting methodologies and protocols, including GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Scope 1, 2, and 3 calculations, and emission factor application.
- Proven experience managing sustainability data collection, validation, and reporting processes across multiple sites or regions, including utility data management (electricity, natural gas, water, waste, refrigerants).
- Strong working knowledge of major sustainability reporting frameworks and disclosure standards including CDP, DJSI, GRI, TCFD, SASB, and corporate sustainability report preparation.
- Direct experience coordinating and supporting third-party assurance or audit processes for sustainability data, including documentation preparation, auditor engagement, and variance analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, manipulation, and quality assurance, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation techniques.
- Experience with environmental data management systems, sustainability reporting platforms, or enterprise resource planning systems used for environmental accounting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex technical sustainability information for diverse audiences including executives, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, geographies, and organizational levels to achieve program objectives and build stakeholder alignment.

Estimated compensation for this position:
83,000.00 – 103,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
