The Role As our Performance Marketing Lead, you will take full ownership of designing, building, and scaling the customer acquisition engine for our specialized Shopify app suite from day one. Partnering closely with our Business Unit Lead, you will transform paid advertising channels into a predictable, highly optimized growth engine. Your daily focus will center on capturing high-intent merchant traffic, scaling user acquisitions across marketplace platforms, and turning prospective leads into active software installations.

This position features a defined advancement track: as you establish a robust, well-documented marketing infrastructure, you will step into a Senior Lead capacity to recruit, mentor, and direct your own internal marketing unit over the next 12 to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Paid Channel Ownership: Plan, run, and scale performance campaigns across search, social, marketplace, and syndicated networks (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Shopify Ads, and content distribution).
• Demand Generation & Funnel Scale: Drive B2B lead capture and MQL conversions by steering high-intent merchant traffic directly to our Shopify App Store listings.
• Process Architecture & Documentation: Construct, formalize, and document scalable marketing workflows, operational playbooks, and transparent reporting systems to ensure long-term efficiency.
• Hypothesis-Driven Testing: Execute all growth initiatives through a systematic, scientific methodology encompassing hypothesis formulation, experiment execution, data analysis, and iterative optimization.
• Tracking & Analytics Stack: Build and maintain airtight multi-touch tracking setups using GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and connected data tools.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align closely with Product Management and Customer Success to coordinate successful feature rollouts, product updates, and merchant cross-sell initiatives.
• Leadership Transition: Prepare the operational ground to recruit, train, and manage a dedicated growth team as our software portfolio expands over the next 1–2 years.

What Makes You a Fit

• Proven Track Record: 5+ years (ideally 4–7 years) of hands-on performance marketing experience in B2B environments, holding direct accountability for generating qualified leads (MQLs) across multiple paid channels.
• Core Channel Mastery: Deep, direct operational proficiency in running, optimizing, and scaling Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads.
• MarTech & Data Proficiency: Hands-on experience integrating CRM and automation systems (such as HubSpot) alongside web analytics and attribution tools (GA4, GTM, Looker Studio).
• Systems Mindset: A deeply quantitative approach to growth—you normalize decisions through core metrics (CPL, CAC, conversion rates, ROAS) and prioritize durable systems over isolated fixes.
• Language Requirements: Native or professional C2 German language proficiency combined with strong English communication skills.
