Position Summary:

A financial analyst is needed to perform reviews of financial reports and other related documents to determine compliance with statutes and regulations.  Routine activities include the identification of risks and fluctuations to provide conclusions as to the solvency and financial condition of insurance companies are.  The analyst will be supported by seasoned professionals as well as junior staff members.  Experiences include both large and small insurance companies including property and casualty, life, health, and long-term care.  Annual training is provided for both industry specific and specialized areas such as information technology, investments, and reinsurance.

Responsibilities:

General

  • Conduct and maintain the analysis process as described in the Financial Condition Analysis Handbook.

  • Perform analysis of the financial condition of insurance companies to determine compliance with statutes and regulations and solvency.

  • Identify and assess risks of insurance companies.

  • Evaluate the operations of insurance companies to determine if prior review inquiries and recommendations have been implemented.

  • Recommend priority levels for insurance companies through review of quarterly and annual statements, audited financial statements, and other financial reports.

  • Review contracts and other filings by insurance companies.

Service clients

  • Exercise professionalism.

  • Manage the expectations of the client, your supervisor and other team members.

  • Provide the client and your supervisor with regular status updates

Monitor and meet budgets

  • Work with supervisor to manage timelines and budgets.

Ensure quality of work product

  • Communicate the project objectives and responsibilities of all team members.

  • Perform/review work completed in a timely manner.

  • Identify opportunities for improvements.

  • Identify and work towards resolution of potential issues.

  • Assist team members as needed.

Expand business and/or network

  • Participate in networking meetings, lunches, and dinners.

  • Develop and maintain relationship with key contacts.

Personal Development

  • Participate in performance reviews with Noble staff and project debriefing.

  • Ensure evaluations are received/administered as per Noble Consulting policy.

  • Embrace opportunities to expand responsibility.

  • Expand knowledge of insurance industry and the framework of insurance regulation.

Deliver conclusions and work product

  • Communicate proactively throughout engagements.

  • Provide conclusions in work performed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, risk management, or economics.

  • Minimum experience of 4 years.

  • Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation is welcomed, but not required.

  • CPA is welcomed, but not required.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Strong written communication skills.
