The Finance Specialist will manage accounting, payroll, and reporting for the US entity while supporting India statutory compliance. Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, and assisting with audits and consolidated financial statements.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Finance Specialist whose primary focus will be accounting, close, payroll and reporting for our US entity. The role also requires working knowledge of India accounting and statutory compliance, so you can support consolidated reporting and collaborate effectively with the India Finance Specialist. You will work under the guidance of the Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate books of accounts for the US entity in line with US GAAP, including transaction recording, ledger maintenance, and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, FX adjustments, and bank, credit-card, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements for the US and India entities, including intercompany reconciliations, for the Manager's review.
Process accounts payable, including invoice validation, routing for approval, vendor coordination, and payments.
Assist with US payroll and Employer of Record (EOR) processing and maintain working knowledge of India payroll.
Review and process expense reimbursements in line with company policies.
Assist the Manager in preparing schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings and support coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
Apply working knowledge of India statutory compliance (ROC, GST, TDS, FEMA, PF, PT) to support India finance operations as needed.
Record and manage transactions in NetSuite, review expenses and receipts in Ramp, support payroll inputs and reports in Rippling, and update equity and cap-table records in Carta.
Maintain process documentation, close checklists, and shared trackers to support continuity across both entities.
Suggest and implement process improvements and follow established internal controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA, CA Inter, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
5+ years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 1 year of hands-on US accounting.
Working knowledge of US GAAP for close, reconciliations, and reporting.
Working knowledge of Indian accounting standards and statutory compliance (GST, TDS, PF, PT, ROC).
Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP (QuickBooks, Xero); exposure to Ramp or similar expense-management tools; familiarity with US payroll on Rippling or similar platforms; exposure to Carta is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong communication skills and experience working with US-based stakeholders.
