Role Summary
Orbia is seeking a highly analytical and motivated intern to support the Derivatives Business Unit in understanding demand drivers, pricing dynamics, and product elasticity across key markets.
The intern will work with import/export trade data, market pricing information from industry publications (CMA, ICIS, etc.), and internal commercial and financial data to develop analytical models and insights that support strategic decision-making.
This internship will focus on designing tools that enhance commercial decision-making and provide greater visibility into market trends, pricing behavior, and demand patterns.
The intern will work closely with senior FP&A, Commercial, and Business Development professionals while gaining exposure to market intelligence, pricing strategy, forecasting, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
· Automate the collection and reporting of import/export trade data to support detailed analyses and executive-level summaries.
· Develop automated reporting for market pricing data sourced from industry publications such as CMA and ICIS.
· Analyze market, pricing, and internal business data to identify demand drivers and pricing trends across Derivatives BU products.
· Develop product elasticity models and demand forecasts to support commercial strategy and pricing decisions.

4. Elasticity and demand undersating and modelling (6 weeks)
Required Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Economics (preferred), Finance or a related quantitative discipline.
· Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Microsoft Excel knowledge (pivot tables, Power Query, data analysis) and PowerPoint.
· Interest in pricing, forecasting, market intelligence, or business analytics.
· Ability to work independently and manage a project-oriented assignment.
Preferred Experience
· Coursework or practical experience in econometrics, statistics, forecasting, or demand modeling.
· Understanding of price elasticity and regression analysis.
· Familiarity with AI-powered productivity and analytics tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
· Experience working with external market data, trade data, or economic indicators.
· Interest in commodity markets, chemicals, manufacturing, or industrial products.
Learning Opportunity
This internship offers the opportunity to work on a strategic business project within Orbia's Derivatives Business Unit. The intern will gain hands-on experience analyzing global trade flows, market pricing data, and internal commercial information to better understand demand drivers, pricing dynamics, and product elasticity.
Throughout the project, the intern will develop practical skills in data analytics, forecasting, business intelligence, and automation while working with industry-standard market information sources such as CMA and ICIS.
In addition to technical development, the intern will collaborate closely with leaders across FP&A, Commercial, and Business Development functions and gain insight into how market intelligence and financial analysis support strategic pricing and margin optimization decisions.
