Work arrangement: Remote within Florida

Compensation: $100–$150 per hour, depending on experience and scope of assigned matters

Mayersohn Law Group, P.A. is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney for a remote contract engagement supporting the firm's estate-planning and probate matters. The attorney must be licensed and in good standing with The Florida Bar and able to travel periodically within Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties for client meetings, signings, court-related matters, or other business needs.

This role is suited to an attorney who can independently manage sophisticated estate-planning files, draft high-quality planning documents, advise clients clearly and professionally, and work effectively with clients and allied professionals. The position involves complex planning for individuals, families, business owners, and high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

• Draft and revise wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, pour-over wills, powers of attorney, health care surrogate designations, living wills, and related estate-planning documents.
• Prepare advanced planning documents, including special-needs trusts, dynasty trusts, and other wealth-transfer or asset-protection structures.
• Advise clients on estate-planning, probate, asset-protection, business-succession, and related planning considerations.
• Analyze existing estate plans, identify issues or gaps, and recommend appropriate updates.
• Support planning for high-net-worth clients and families, including coordination of tax-sensitive and asset-protection strategies.
• Collaborate with financial advisors, CPAs, insurance professionals, family offices, and firm staff.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical analysis regarding Florida estate-planning, probate, homestead, creditor-protection, and related issues.
• Maintain accurate matter records, meet agreed deadlines, and provide responsive client service.
• Travel periodically within Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties as needed.

Required qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• At least three years of estate-planning experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently draft and manage estate-planning matters.
• Experience with wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related planning documents.
• Strong legal drafting, research, client-counseling, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to travel periodically within Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.

Preferred qualifications

• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning.
• Experience with complex estates, high-net-worth clients, trust planning, tax-sensitive planning, asset protection, or business succession.
• Probate experience.
• Familiarity with Clio, LexisNexis, and electronic matter-management tools.
• Experience with Medicaid-planning matters.
