Summary of Responsibilities

The District Manager is responsible for driving maximum performance and growth across an assigned territory (Central & Northeastern Ontario) of Yamaha dealerships – Exclusive, Dual Line and Multi-Line formats.

Acting as a trusted business consultant and subject matter expert, this role partners with dealers to achieve Yamaha Motor Canada’s corporate wholesale and retail objectives.

The District Manager provides best-in-class field support, identifies and actively pursues growth opportunities, while delivering measurable improvements in sales, service, and customer experience.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Dealer Business Performance Oversight:

  • Oversee and consult on all aspects of dealer operations (Sales & Service), ensuring alignment with brand VI standards, procedures and expectations
  • Drive wholesale and retail objectives across units, P&A, and Yamalube.
  • Monitor and improve dealer operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction, leveraging P360 and Elite reward & recognition programs.
  • Ensure effective lead management processes, including timely and professional responses and customer handling.
  • Ensure and encourage local dealer marketing investments and execution to drive showroom traffic and sales conversion success.

In-Market Dealer Contacts

  • Conduct on-site dealer visits (3 days per week guideline) with clear business agendas, professional contact execution leveraging all available tools, and consistent documentation of contact outcomes, material details and resulting action plans / next steps.
  • Prioritize visit cadence based on revenue potential, market share growth opportunities, and dealer performance enhancement opportunities.
  • Provide coaching, insights and best practices in sales, service, and operational core processes in an effort to elevate dealer performance.

Market & Dealer Development

  • Serve as the market and industry expert, continuously evaluating trends, competitive dynamics, and opportunities for growth and/or expansion.
  • Prospect and support new dealer appointments and market expansion in collaboration with the Network Development and respective Business Unit teams.
  • Facilitate buy/sell and new dealership appointment packages with support of Network Development.
  • Recommend performance letter and non-renewal actions.

Dealer Order Booking

  • Manage and steer Unit, P&A and Yamalube booking periods to achieve maximum acceptance and season readiness.
  • Partner with dealers on inventory management strategies to optimize sales, turn rates, mix, and availability.

Events & Marketing Support

  • Lead & assist Marketing with any Corporate Consumer Shows• Support dealers with local consumer and trade events to build brand presence and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing with on-site consumer show execution, ensuring dealer participation and brand consistency.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all dealer contacts in the Salesforce online platform, including meeting outcomes, next steps, and follow-up action plans.
  • Inform key stakeholders on any dealer escalation issues or concerns.
  • Leveraging available tools, provide reporting and key insights on dealer performance, market opportunities & trends, and progress against objectives.

 

Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma: University degree or College diploma
  • Program of Study: Business, marketing, communications or related field
  • Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years
  • Type of Experience: Sales and marketing

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in Powersports retail or wholesale operations, preferably in a field or territory management role.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to analyze financial, sales, and operational performance.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and consulting skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, travel-intensive role.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and foster a collaborative, results-driven partnership with Yamaha dealers.

 

 Travel & Overtime Requirements

  • National travel (within Canada): 40%+
  • International travel: N/A
  • Overtime sometimes required


Expected salary range: $85,000 - $95,000/per annum 

Although base salary for this position falls within the above posted range, final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
