About Fòs Feminista
Fòs Feminista is a global intersectional feminist organization advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Led and governed by the Global South, Fòs Feminista works through a constellation of affiliated organizations, legal entities, strategic partnerships, and movement relationships with around 200 civil society partners across 40 countries.
Our work integrates advocacy, grantmaking, research, movement-building, sexual and reproductive healthcare, and innovative finance to strengthen feminist organizations and movements worldwide. Operating across multiple jurisdictions and institutional structures, Fòs Feminista brings together legal, political, philanthropic, and movement strategies to advance gender justice and achieve lasting systemic change.
Position Summary
Fòs Feminista is seeking a strategic fundraising leader to help shape the next chapter of our philanthropy program. Reporting to the Philanthropy Lead for Foundations, Governments & Major Gifts, the Director of Philanthropy will play a central leadership role in developing and executing an integrated fundraising strategy that deepens relationships with Fòs Feminista's highest-value supporters, including foundations, governments, donor collaboratives, and individual philanthropists.
This role reflects an important evolution in Fòs Feminista's approach to resource mobilization. As international aid budgets contract and the landscape of philanthropy continues to shift, the distinction between institutional and individual giving is becoming increasingly blurred. Many of today's largest philanthropic investments are driven by high-net-worth individuals who give through family foundations, donor collaboratives, and other philanthropic vehicles that require sophisticated relationship management alongside strong proposal development. At the same time, growing restrictions on public funding for sexual and reproductive health and rights demand that we diversify our funding base and significantly expand our major gifts program.
The Director of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing this transformation by taking a holistic view of Fòs Feminista's top donors and prospects, developing tailored engagement strategies that combine compelling storytelling, strategic cultivation, executive engagement, and outstanding proposal development. Working in close partnership with the Philanthropy Lead and CEO, this role will represent Fòs Feminista in high-level philanthropic spaces and help position the organization for transformational partnerships that sustain and grow our global feminist alliance.
The Director will supervise the Associate Director of Institutional Giving while remaining actively engaged in proposal development, donor strategy, and relationship building. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys both thinking strategically about fundraising approaches and directly building meaningful partnerships that advance funding for feminist movements and sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice worldwide.
