The Director of Learning and Development (EMD / Sleep), leads the Epilepsy/Movement Disorders (EMD) and Sleep L&D team and is responsible for the strategy, performance and execution of the EMD and Sleep learning and development programs. This role reports to the Senior Director of Learning & Development and is accountable for leading and developing a high-performing team consisting of an Associate Director/Senior Training Manager leveled team who cover Medical Affairs, Sales and Market Access training for Sales, Market Access and Medical Affairs colleagues in Sleep and EMD. This role will be responsible for setting clear priorities and ensuring the L&D team consistently delivers value to the EMD and Sleep cross functional teams through strong partnership and execution. This role owns the EMD / Sleep learning strategy and outcomes, translating business needs into prioritized training and ensuring delivery of high-quality learning programs that improve performance of the field (sales, medical and market access employees).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Direction
Set clear direction for the L&D EMD / Sleep team, partnering with the head of Learning & Development to ensure learning & training objectives are aligned with business priorities and EMD / Sleep L&D goals.
Translate business needs into clear priorities, scope and success measures for the team by leading needs assessment and defining learning requirements.
Partner with EMD / Sleep franchise and functional leaders to translate disease strategies, launch priorities, and capability needs into role‑based learnings and prioritized training roadmaps
Oversee the design, delivery and facilitation of training programs and learning solutions (e.g. onboarding, launch readiness, key account excellence initiatives, skill building, and mindset reinforcement) that build capabilities across commercial, medical, and market access field teams and measurably improve field effectiveness.
Ensure the team delivers high-quality, reliable trainings with clear expectations on scope, timing and outcomes.
Measure and monitor training effectiveness, using insights to continuously improve programs.
Use stakeholder feedback to continuously improve learning content development and delivery.
Build and lead a high-performing, scalable team, including setting priorities, managing performance and developing talent to support evolving content production and deployment capabilities
Collaboration
Serve as the senior CX L&D representative, engaging a broad set of stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, to align EMD / Sleep learning priorities with franchise and launch needs.
Represent the EMD / Sleep L&D team in cross-functional forums and L&D team-level planning discussions, ensuring franchise needs, dependencies and constraints are clearly communicated and reflected in team priorities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of learning & development, including adult learning principles, instructional design and program development with the ability to translate business needs into effective learning strategies and outcomes.
Strong judgment in balancing learning strategy, program design, and delivery realities, ensuring training solutions are practical, scalable and aligned to business priorities.
Proven ability to lead teams in developing and delivering learning programs across complex, cross-functional environments, including adapting content and delivery approaches to meet evolving business and field needs.
Experience leading and developing a high-performing team, including resource planning, performance management, and talent development to support evolving business needs.
Oversee development and implementation of training on CRM systems, data analytics, and digital tools to enhance field force effectiveness and data-driven decision making.
Ensure development of training for field teams aimed at leveraging insights and analytics for improved account planning and customer engagement.
Mentor, coach, and elevate a high-performing team of 5 Sr. Training Managers and 1 Assoc. Director of L&D (representing sales, market access and medical affairs functions). Foster a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and advanced adult-learning expertise.
Identify and leverage operational and strategic synergies across the 3 distinct L&D stakeholder types to drive efficiency.
Act as the primary steward of regulatory firewalls between Commercial and Medical Affairs L&D initiatives. Ensure all cross-functional strategies and shared resources strictly adhere to corporate compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in learning and development, capability building, or commercial excellence within a pharmaceutical organization.
6-8 years of experience leading people, including managing and developing high-performing teams and driving accountability across functions.
Demonstrated experience leading teams that include Senior Managers, Associate Directors, or equivalent roles, with accountability for team performance, development, and outcomes.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MBA or relevant graduate degree) preferred.
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Experience working in rare disease or specialty brands, with strong understanding of unique stakeholder dynamics.
Experience with Sleep and/or Epilepsy space
Working Requirements:
30 to 40% travel will be required.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:
$184,000.00 - $276,000.00Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.
At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
