Position Summary

Location – Remote

Travel – 50-75%

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Operations – AV/EV to lead field operations for our rapidly growing Autonomous Vehicle (AV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) segment.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President (AVP), AV/EV, the Director of Operations owns the day-to-day performance of field operations across the segment, including safety, quality, staffing, customer performance, operational efficiency, and financial results.

This leader will oversee a large, geographically dispersed organization of Senior and Regional Operations Leaders, Fleet Managers, Service Advisors, Technicians, and other field personnel while partnering closely with Recruiting, Training, HR, Finance, Safety, Procurement, and IT.

Key Responsibilities

• Own all field operations for the AV/EV segment, translating strategy and customer commitments into consistent operational execution.
• Lead, develop, and hold accountable Senior Managers, Regional Managers, Fleet Managers, and field teams.
• Drive performance across Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Productivity, Fleet Availability, and Operational Efficiency.
• Own execution against operational KPIs, technician utilization, repair-order performance, staffing levels, customer SLAs, and financial targets.
• Ensure markets are appropriately staffed and operationally prepared to meet customer demand, including 24/7 operations where required.
• Build and protect a strong AV/EV culture centered on accountability, teamwork, safety, professionalism, and customer focus.
• Partner with Recruiting and Training to support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, technical readiness, and leadership development.
• Serve as a senior operational escalation point for customers and field leadership, driving rapid resolution of performance and service issues.
• Lead operational execution for new customer launches, market expansions, fleet ramps, transitions, and new vehicle platforms.
• Partner cross-functionally to remove operational barriers and continuously improve segment performance.
• Maintain strong financial discipline across labor, overtime, travel, third-party spend, inventory, billing, and overall P&L performance.

Key Skills & Behaviors

• 10+ years of operations leadership experience, preferably within fleet maintenance, automotive, transportation, EV, AV, or another complex multi-site environment.
• Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed organizations through multiple levels of management.
• Strong operational and financial acumen with experience managing KPIs, budgets, productivity, and P&L performance.
• Strong fleet maintenance knowledge; EV, high-voltage, diagnostics, ADAS, or autonomous vehicle experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, develop leaders, and create a culture of accountability and performance.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to balance customer expectations with operational and financial requirements.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling, and constantly changing environment.
• Strong communicator who is proactive, data-driven, resilient, resourceful, and highly accountable.
• Ability to travel as required to support customers, teams, launches, and operational priorities.

Measures of Success

Success will be measured by overall AV/EV field performance, including safety, customer satisfaction, fleet performance, staffing attainment, technician productivity, quality, employee retention, operational KPIs, successful launches, and achievement of financial targets.
