About the role

Acast is looking for a Director of Activation to lead our Activation team and oversee the end-to-end delivery of podcast advertising campaigns. Sitting at the intersection of people leadership, campaign operations, and client management, this role balances team capacity and development with hands-on ownership of agency, client, and podcaster relationships. You will ensure campaigns are resourced effectively, delivered to a high standard, and reported on with precision.

Please note this will be a fixed term contract for 12 months.

What you'll do

Campaign Management

• Confidently manage client and agency communications, including leading kick-off and status calls to ensure campaigns align with expectations, timelines, and objectives.

• Lead the podcaster briefing process and manage timelines for all associated commercial deliverables.

• Ensure all commercial assets meet high quality standards and deadlines, maintaining exceptional relationships across podcasters, agencies, and clients.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams, talent, clients, and agencies to resolve issues, navigate shifting priorities, and ensure smooth execution.

• Oversee day-to-day campaign management and performance reporting alongside the Ad Operations team.

• Simultaneously manage multiple campaigns varying in size, scope, and complexity.

Team Leadership & Management

• Provide day-to-day support, mentorship, and managerial guidance to the Activation team.

• Act as the primary escalation point for complex campaign queries and operational roadblocks.

• Support employee development through ongoing training, performance reviews, and self-assessments.

Activation & Resource Planning

• Assign campaigns across four distinct sales groups based on strategic priorities, bandwidth, and business needs.

• Oversee team workload and capacity planning to guarantee efficient and effective campaign delivery.

• Allocate campaigns according to tier level, complexity, and team expertise.

Who you are

• An Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record of managing a team within an activation, project management, or campaign delivery function—ideally within podcasting, audio, or media advertising.

• A Skilled Stakeholder Manager: You bring strong communication skills and experience liaising directly with agencies, clients, and creators/talent.

• Highly Organized: You thrive in fast-paced environments and feel comfortable juggling multiple campaigns, strict timelines, and competing priorities simultaneously.

• A Supportive People Manager: You naturally empower others and can guide a team through routine workflows as well as high-stakes escalations.

• Data-Informed & Analytical: You hold an analytical mindset with practical experience in campaign performance reporting and post-campaign analysis.
