Position Summary

Veksel is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, financial systems, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will oversee full-cycle accounting, contract and project accounting, revenue recognition, cash management, payroll coordination, and internal controls while building scalable financial processes to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting software, accounts payable/receivable, financial statements, and month-end close.
• Administer QuickBooks Online Advanced and related financial systems and integrations.
• Prepare accurate and compliant financial statements for audit purposes and other reporting requirements.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and collections.
• Coordinate multi-state payroll accounting, tax compliance, and year-end reporting.
• Partner with leadership and Operations on financial planning, risk management, and business decisions.
• Develop, manage and maintain standard operating procedures for internal and external clients and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
• Experience with accounting systems, financial reporting, and multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• Experience in consulting, engineering, construction, or other project-based businesses.
• Experience with Quickbooks Online Advanced software.
• Experience scaling financial operations in a growing organization.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, project accounting, and contract billing.
