The Community Manager will own and grow the community across Discord, Reddit, and native platforms by moderating discussions and running engagement programs. They will also partner with Product, Marketing, and Support teams to surface community feedback and shape broader engagement strategies.
We’re looking for a Community Manager to own and grow our community across Discord, Reddit, our native community platform, and the comment sections of our social media profiles. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely loves community work — you'll spend your days moderating conversations, running programs that keep members engaged, and turning community feedback into insight the rest of the team can act on. You'll work closely with Product, Marketing, and Support to shape a broader community strategy focused on engagement and retention, not just day-to-day upkeep.
What You'll DoManage the comment sections across our social media profiles: responding to questions and feedback, moderating spam and abusive content, and routing support issues to the right team.
Build and maintain community guidelines, moderation policies, and escalation paths that work across all of our community and social channels.
Recruit, train, and support volunteer moderators and community ambassadors.
Partner with Product, Marketing, and Support to surface community and social feedback and feed it into roadmap and messaging decisions.
Design and run engagement programs — AMAs, events, contests, challenges — that grow participation and retention
Track community health metrics (active members, retention, sentiment, response times, including social comment response rates and sentiment) and report on trends to the team.
Draft and distribute community communications: announcements, changelogs, FAQs.
Identify, nurture, and recognize community champions and superusers, including engaged followers on our social channels.
Monitor conversations across community platforms and social comments for emerging issues, bugs, or reputational risks, and escalate appropriately.
Contribute to the team's broader community strategy, helping set goals and priorities for growth and retention.
Excellent written communication and a strong sense of tone and voice
Hands-on experience with Discord moderation/bots and Reddit moderation tools
Comfortable working with engagement and retention metrics, and turning data into action
Calm under pressure, skilled at de-escalating conflict and enforcing guidelines fairly and consistently, including in public-facing social threads
Self-starter who can work independently across time zones and async
Genuine enthusiasm for community-building and for our product
Familiarity with community platforms beyond Discord/Reddit (e.g. Circle, Discourse, Facebook Groups, a custom native app)
Experience with social media management or social listening tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Brandwatch)
Light content creation skills (graphics, video, memes) for community engagement
Experience mentoring or managing a volunteer moderator team
