Clinical Program Improvement Specialist

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a Clinical Program Improvement Specialist to support the National Clinical Director of Virtual Care in building, refining, and scaling the infrastructure behind Banyan's Virtual IOP. This role blends clinical program development, training design, compliance support, outcomes measurement, and patient-facing programming.

The specialist brings a clinical background and direct patient care experience to this work, applying a clinical eye to program design, curriculum development, and patient care initiatives across the virtual care continuum. This perspective allows the specialist to translate day-to-day clinical realities — what staff encounter in session, what patients need between touchpoints, where documentation and workflow create friction — into stronger training, sharper outcomes tracking, and more responsive programming. The role is intentionally cross-functional, sitting at the intersection of clinical operations, quality, and program development.

Key Responsibilities 

Staff Training Program Development (Lead) 

• Leads design, build-out, and ongoing iteration of Banyan's enhanced clinical training program under the supervision of the National Clinical Director of Virtual Care and General Manager. 

• Partners with Clinical Supervisors on staff training needs identified through supervision and case review. 

• Builds onboarding curriculum aligned with the Clinical Operations Coordinator 

• Maps and refines the clinical intake process — workflow, documentation templates, and hand-off points — in partnership with the National Clinical Director on any changes affecting clinical decision thresholds. 

Documentation & Compliance Support 

• Partners with the Compliance team on documentation adherence audits and staff remediation plans. 

• Tracks compliance gaps and develops job aids, checklists, and reference tools for clinical staff.. 

Outcomes Measurement 

• Partners with Clinical Programming to design outcomes tracking policies and select measurement tools. 

• Builds reporting cadence and dashboards for clinical KPIs and census-related outcomes. 

• Translates outcomes data into recommendations for curriculum and continuous program improvement. 

Virtual Care Alumni Programming 

• Partners with National Alumni Director to develop alumni programming specific to the Virtual IOP track to ensure community remains engaged and supported. 

• Partners with Care Coordination team on transitions from active treatment into alumni programming. 

Clinical Model Re-Design & Evolution 

• Contributes program design input and drafts frameworks supporting the ongoing evolution of the telehealth IOP model. 

• Serves as a build and documentation partner on admission criteria and clinical framework projects, with clinical authority retained by licensed clinical leadership. 

Patient / Client Feedback Panel 

• Partners closely with General Manager and Product Experience lead to stand up and facilitate Banyan's patient/client feedback panel. 

• Owns panel logistics, facilitation, and synthesis of feedback into actionable program recommendations. 

PRN Group Facilitator 

• Provides PRN facilitation coverage for IOP groups as needed (loosely, twice a month) 

Other Strategic Projects 

• Supports additional cross-functional initiatives as assigned in service of telehealth IOP growth and strategic priorities. 

Qualifications  

• Master's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology). 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable building processes, training materials, and documentation from the ground up. 

• Experience with or strong aptitude for program development, process improvement, and data-informed decision-making. 

• Working knowledge of behavioral health / SUD treatment settings preferred (IOP, PHP, or similar levels of care). 

• Experience working directly with patients preferred.
