Coordinates complex prescription processing by verifying data accuracy, resolving insurance rejections, handling specialty medications, and ensuring appropriate documentation. Handles prior authorization activities by gathering required documentation, submitting requests to payers, tracking status, and following up on approvals. Performs inventory activities by monitoring stock levels, processing controlled substance orders, conducting cycle counts, and handling medication recalls. Ensures compliance with regulations by following applicable requirements, maintaining required records, preparing for audits, and adhering to state board guidelines. Handles specialty medication operations by processing specialty pharmacy orders, coordinating with manufacturers, and ensuring proper storage requirements. Resolves technical issues by troubleshooting pharmacy system errors, researching drug information, addressing billing discrepancies, and escalating to pharmacists when needed. Performs quality assurance activities by identifying process errors, documenting incidents, and implementing corrective actions.

Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. 2+ years of experience in pharmacy operations, retail, hospital, specialty, customer service, or a related field required. Active pharmacy technician registration or licensure as required by the state(s) of practice preferred.
