Black Belt Business Process Consultant

Summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to lead complex process improvement and operational readiness initiatives. This role partners across business, technology, operations, and customer experience teams to improve processes, reduce waste, support successful implementations, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Your role in our mission

• Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in process improvement methodologies, providing strategic guidance and consultation to business leaders and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance, customer outcomes, quality, and efficiency.
• Analyze organizational processes, performance metrics, operational data, and business challenges to identify enterprise-level improvement opportunities.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods to address complex business challenges and drive sustainable results.
• Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, value stream mapping sessions, and root cause analyses to support strategic business initiatives.
• Design and implement innovative process solutions that address complex organizational challenges while balancing operational, technical, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Develop future-state process architectures, governance models, performance frameworks, and continuous improvement roadmaps.
• Evaluate interdependencies across functions, systems, processes, and organizational structures to ensure improvement initiatives align with broader business objectives.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators, operational metrics, and measurement frameworks to assess improvement effectiveness and business impact.
• Provide data-driven recommendations, business case support, and executive-ready insights to guide decision-making.
• Lead the adoption and maturation of continuous improvement practices across business units and functional areas.
• Guide project teams and business stakeholders in the application of process improvement methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Contribute to the development of organizational standards, methodologies, policies, and governance related to process excellence and operational improvement.
• Mentor and coach process improvement practitioners and operational leaders to strengthen continuous improvement capabilities across the organization.

What we're looking for

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8 or more years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, business transformation, continuous improvement, consulting, or related disciplines.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required, with demonstrated experience successfully applying DMAIC methodology to process improvement initiatives.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional improvement initiatives in large-scale operational environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Expertise in process mapping, customer journey mapping, value stream analysis, root cause analysis, performance measurement, and future-state process design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, process mapping tools, statistical software, time study applications, and Power BI or other business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and operational excellence practices in complex business environments.
• Experience leading readiness reviews and transformation workshops with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to connect process improvement work to strategic business goals, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
• Exceptional analytical, facilitation, communication, consulting, and presentation skills.
• Experience managing multiple initiatives and navigating ambiguity in complex business environments.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and guide organizational change without direct authority.
