Job Title: Billing Specialist
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist to manage incoming emails, correspond with clients and brokers, and perform necessary research to address inquiries. The role involves monitoring, processing, reporting, and documenting various transactions, ensuring accurate premium processing and billing, and acting as a resource for both external and internal business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to incoming emails through a team-shared inbox.
  • Research and clear suspense accounts.
  • Monitor, process, report, and document transactions including adjustments, premium receipt, invoicing, deduction requests, reversals, reposts, and delinquencies.
  • Coordinate with other business areas to ensure accurate premium processing, reporting, billing, and fee disclosure.
  • Prepare and create monthly bills for alternately billed groups.
  • Implement billing and delinquency operations to maximize effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Audit and monitor the operation of the billing system, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Develop solutions for billing and delinquency issues and assist in implementing system and process enhancements.
  • Communicate sensitive and confidential policy and billing information effectively to policyholders, producers, third-party administrators, field force, and home office staff.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of Transactional Accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, customer service, credits, debits, data entry.
  • Experience in the insurance industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Intermediate knowledge of systems such as Group Access, GroupFacts, AdminEase, Clarity, and OMAR.
  • 2-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Experience with medical billing, collection, claim, and invoice processing.
  • Experience with clearing suspense accounts and generating aging reports.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and the ability to work from the comfort of your own home.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
