Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and decorate custom birthday cakes and specialty desserts to meet client specifications and aesthetic standards.
  
• Oversee daily bakery operations, including ingredient preparation, baking schedules, and product quality control.
  
• Lead and mentor a team of pastry assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and professional development.
  
• Implement and monitor cost control measures to minimize waste and optimize ingredient usage.
  
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits using Excel-based tracking systems.
  
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop seasonal and promotional dessert offerings.
  
• Troubleshoot production issues and adapt recipes or processes to meet demand and quality benchmarks.
  
• Stay updated on baking trends, techniques, and new product development to enhance menu offerings.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as a Bakery Chef or Senior Pastry Chef in a commercial or retail bakery setting.
  
• Proven expertise in cake decorating, including fondant work, piping, and edible art.
  
• Demonstrated experience in creating visually appealing birthday cakes and custom dessert displays.
  
• Strong understanding of cost controls, waste reduction, and inventory management practices.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking inventory, costs, and sales data.
  
• In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functionality, and food safety protocols.
  
• Creative mindset with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  
• Ability to work under pressure during peak hours and meet tight deadlines.
  
• Valid food handler’s certificate and relevant culinary qualifications are preferred.
