Our team is a quickly growing group of committed architects, engineers, tradespersons, researchers, and business leaders. Our clients include Amazon, Mars Wrigley, and National Geographic, the firms shaping the world's most ambitious projects.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager for mechanical and plumbing scopes, you will support the delivery of BIM and VDC services for VIATechnik's trade contractor clients. You'll coordinate between VIATechnik's internal technical teams and client stakeholders, manage several workstreams at once, and translate technical outputs into clear next steps for the people building the work in the field.

Your day-to-day work keeps handoffs on schedule, surfaces issues early, and manages risk before it affects a project timeline. This role fits someone with a strong grasp of construction software and technical workflows who wants to stay close to delivery without doing hands on production modeling.

Employee Value Proposition

Purpose - You will shape how predictably trade contractors operate in high-stakes construction environments. The coordination you drive between technical teams and clients has a real effect on field readiness, clash avoidance, and schedule performance.

Growth - Strong performance here opens a path to senior delivery leadership within VIATechnik's project portfolio. As you build expertise, you can take on process innovation, internal capability development, cross project delivery governance, or strategic account leadership.

Motivators - You will thrive in this role if you find meaning in visible impact on client outcomes and enjoy being the connective force between technical teams and trade contractor clients, in a structured yet dynamic environment.

Major Performance Objectives

  • Within your first ninety days, get up to speed on each client's expectations and the project management platforms in use, and set a predictable rhythm of updates that keeps deliverables, dependencies, and reviews on track.
  • Within your first sixty days, build a shared way of working with internal technical teams and client stakeholders, including regular check ins, a clear path for resolving issues, and agreement on scope and change requests.
  • Within your first ninety days, contribute to at least one company wide initiative focused on process improvement, delivery standardization, or knowledge sharing, and help produce a measurable improvement that benefits VIATechnik beyond your own projects.

Critical Subtasks

  • Conduct a 30 to 60 day audit of your active projects to assess delivery status, scope clarity, modeling workflows, and risk areas, then work with technical leads to correct what needs fixing.
  • Serve as a steady point of contact for trade contractor clients, keeping them updated on deliverable status, upcoming reviews, and open decisions.
  • Track milestones, dependencies, and review cycles across your projects, flagging timeline risk early and adjusting resourcing with technical leads as needed.
  • Run structured syncs with internal technical team leads to align on client feedback, modeling questions, and production challenges before they become bottlenecks.
  • Watch for scope creep and change requests, document them clearly, and work with Client Success or Account Management to keep pricing and delivery aligned.
  • Lead debriefs after major milestones or project closeout and turn what you learn into updates to templates, checklists, or delivery methods the team can reuse.
  • Look for ways AI and automation tools can improve delivery accuracy and reduce manual coordination, and pilot at least one idea within your first six months.

This Role Is a Strong Fit for You If

  • A minimum of 2 years experience.
  • An associate or above in a related field.
  • You have hands on experience with construction software and BIM or VDC workflows and can translate technical detail into next steps that non-technical stakeholders can act on.
  • You can manage several active projects at once without losing track of deadlines, dependencies, or who owns what.
  • You are comfortable being the connective point between technical teams and clients, and you take ownership when something needs to move faster.
  • You work well in a structured environment that is still evolving, and you look for ways to improve the process rather than waiting to be told.

Culture and Situation Fit

You will join a client-centric, delivery-focused organization that values ownership, adaptability, and proactive communication. The pace is fast, with simultaneous management of multiple projects, frequent coordination with technical experts, and rapid alignment of client expectations. Success requires comfort within a structured yet evolving operations framework and a strong sense of accountability for outcomes.

Win-Win Statement

If you succeed in this role, you will become a trusted delivery lead for multiple trade contractor clients, consistently meeting deadlines while improving how VIATechnik's teams work. In return, VIATechnik gains a scalable leader ready for broader portfolio responsibility, and you gain a clear path toward that next step.
