Job Description

Overview 

The Ember Alliance is hiring a cross-departmental Assistant Project Manager 1 (APM1). This person is responsible for assisting with duties as needed by Project Managers, Program Managers, Directors, and Executive Team members. Working across all Departments, Assistant Project Managers will receive training and mentorship from their supervisors to learn basic project management skills from budget management to executive assistant training. This position will require flexibility while learning broad skillsets. 

  

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Implement project work with directives from Department staff. This includes, but is not limited to, updating budgets, data entry, and planning / delegating / tracking project tasks.

  • Build and maintain relationships with partners relevant to projects. This may include planning partner meetings. 

  • Support Project Managers with administrative tasks such as working with Accounting to run time and expense reports, as well as entering and maintaining budget data.

  • Assist Executive Team with administrative needs, including but not limited to, supporting fundraising endeavors, calendar / scheduling / inbox management, document and project preparation, as well as coordinating project, travel, and itinerary logistics.

  • Organize and manage CRM’s for fundraising and employee management software. 

  • Assist IT Team with basic technical support for all employees. 

  • Assist with GIS duties across Organization. 

  • Other Organizational duties as assigned. 

  • Employee may be required to travel based on Organizational needs.  

  • Employee may be required to participate in prescribed fire implementation, suppression, or training up to level of current qualification, or become qualified, on as needed basis as determined by supervisor. 

 

Pay and Benefits 

Pay: 26.50/hour. 

Benefits: Overtime will be based on operational needs. Paid leave and paid holiday benefits are provided. Employer-sponsored health and dental care coverage is available upon employment. Employer-matched retirement plan is available 3 months after hire. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree. 

 

Desired Qualifications  

  • NWCG FFT-2 or higher (must provide complete training records to satisfy qualification). 

  • GIS Certification. 

  • CRM Certification. 

Additional Information

Schedule Requirements 

35 hours per week.

20hrs per week of this position will be working under Fire Management Department leadership and 15 hours per week will be working under Business Operations leadership. This position will not supervise other employees.

Up to 15% of the position may require extended overnight travel. Work schedule may vary based on weather and project needs. 10 to 16-hour days may be required when executing field operations. Projects may require working during weekends and/or up to 14 days continuously, traveling for extended periods of time, remaining overnight near project locations, and working outside of normal business hours with limited notice.

Preferred: Fort Collins, CO; Secondary: Remote

Must be 18 years of age or older, have a current and valid US driver’s license, and be legally eligible to work in the US. Employees are required to live in the US. Employees are required to complete a background check and motor vehicle record check prior to employment. Employees are required to hold a company credit card and may be subjected to a credit check. Failure to pass any of these checks does not automatically disqualify you from employment.
