Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) is seeking part-time, non-exempt adjunct faculty for the Speech-Language Pathology program.  All adjunct positions are filled on an as-needed basis.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and facilitate online course content in accordance with the established course syllabus, course learning outcomes, and program expectations. 
  • Provide instruction in the assessment and management of speech, resonance, velopharyngeal function, feeding, and communication disorders associated with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial conditions. 
  • Integrate current evidence-based practices and relevant clinical experiences into course discussions, case studies, and learning activities. 
  • Emphasize the role of the speech-language pathologist as a member of an interdisciplinary craniofacial/cleft palate team, including collaboration with medical, dental, surgical, audiological, and other professionals. 
  • Facilitate online discussions and other learning activities that promote clinical reasoning and application of course concepts to pediatric and adult cases, as appropriate. 
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, discussions, examinations, and other student work. 
  • Maintain regular communication with students and respond to course-related questions within established program expectations. 
  • Monitor student participation and academic progress and communicate concerns to the Program Director or appropriate program faculty. 
  • Maintain accurate grades and course records in the University's learning management system. 
  • Participate in course assessment and continuous quality improvement activities, including evaluation of student achievement of course learning outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty to ensure consistency with the SLP curriculum and program expectations. 
  • Maintain current professional knowledge related to craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip and palate, resonance disorders, and evidence-based SLP practice. 
  • Follow University and program policies related to academic integrity, accessibility, student privacy, professional conduct, and online education. 

Requirements

  •  Doctoral degree in communication sciences and disorders (Doctoral degree can also be in a related field). 
  • CCC-SLP required. 
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of Arizona. 
  • At least 3-5 years in clinical practice.  
  • Faculty with expertise in craniofacial anomalies and cleft lip and palate, with experience in the assessment and treatment of associated speech, resonance, and communication disorders across the lifespan. 
  • Candidates should value interprofessional collaboration, diversity, culturally responsive practice, and innovative teaching. 
  • Experience working as part of a craniofacial or cleft palate team is highly desirable. 
  • Candidates with expertise in bilingualism and/or bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
