AI Automation Engineer (Contract)

Help build the AI-powered future of Sustainium.

Sustainium AB is looking for an experienced AI Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions that improve our sales, marketing, sustainability services, and internal business operations.

This is not a prompt engineering or no-code automation role. We are looking for a software engineer with a strong development background who can build secure, scalable, and maintainable AI solutions that deliver real business value.

Contract

• 6-month consultancy agreement

• Part-time (approximately 1–2 days per week, flexible depending on project phase)

• Remote with occasional online meetings

Your mission

Design and implement AI-powered systems that automate key commercial and operational workflows across our business while helping shape our long-term AI strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI-assisted lead generation and sales prospecting workflows

• Develop outbound email automation and follow-up sequences

• Build AI-powered marketing automations and content workflows

• Integrate and automate HubSpot CRM processes

• Develop AI-powered proposal, quotation, and document generation tools

• Build sustainability calculators and AI tools related to packaging regulations, including PPWR, EPR, recyclability, and environmental impact assessments

• Develop AI assistants using our internal documentation, technical data, and regulatory knowledge

• Design and implement API integrations across business systems

• Develop and enhance AI-powered functionality on our Webflow website through APIs, custom development, and integrations

• Recommend and implement new AI solutions that improve efficiency across the business

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with several years of professional development experience

• Excellent Python skills

• Experience working with LLMs such as Claude, OpenAI, or similar AI platforms

• Experience building production-grade AI applications

• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs

• Experience building AI workflows and business automations

• Experience with HubSpot integrations or similar CRM platforms

• Experience with modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)

• Experience integrating AI functionality into websites

• Knowledge of Webflow APIs is an advantage

• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, RAG, MCP, or AI agent frameworks is a plus

• Experience with Git, Docker, cloud platforms, and modern development practices
