Role Scope & Purpose

The Marketing Account Manager serves as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of marketing clients, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and account growth. This role bridges the gap between client objectives and internal delivery teams — translating client needs into clear briefs, managing expectations, and ensuring campaign execution is aligned with agreed strategies. The Account Manager is both a trusted advisor to clients and an internal advocate for the work being delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned portfolio of marketing clients, building strong trust-based relationships.
• Lead regular client meetings and check-ins to review performance, discuss strategy, and address concerns.
• Develop and present monthly performance reports with insights and strategic recommendations.
• Translate client goals and feedback into clear internal briefs for delivery teams including paid media, SEO, content, and creative.
• Proactively identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
• Monitor campaign performance and ensure deliverables are completed on time and to quality standards.
• Manage client expectations around timelines, scope, and results.
• Escalate and resolve client issues quickly, maintaining high satisfaction levels.
• Collaborate with internal specialists to develop and refine client strategies.
• Track account health metrics including NPS, retention, and revenue per account, and flag at-risk accounts proactively.

Requirements

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in account management, client success, or client services within a marketing agency or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing channels including paid media, SEO, social, email, or content.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B1 to C1).
• Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret performance data and communicate insights clearly to non-technical clients.
• Experience with project management and/or CRM tools.
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional environment for client calls.
• Availability to work US time zones.
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor.

Nice to Have

• Experience managing accounts in a performance marketing or ecommerce-focused agency.
• Familiarity with marketing reporting platforms such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or similar.
• Background in a specific marketing channel such as paid media, SEO, social, or email.
• Experience identifying and closing upsell opportunities within existing client accounts.
• Knowledge of project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, or ClickUp.
• Track record of high client retention and NPS scores.
