The Vice President of Systems R&D is responsible for leading end-to-end systems development strategy and execution across Beckman Coulter Diagnostics’ global portfolio, driving delivery of complex, integrated diagnostic platforms while building a world-class systems engineering, integration, and verification capability that accelerates innovation, improves quality, and enables long-term business growth.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and is part of the Global Technology Organization and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Define and deliver multi-generational product roadmaps in partnership with Product Management across Clinical Chemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, Urinalysis, Clinical Informatics, and Automation
• Lead a balanced innovation portfolio across Advanced Development, New Product Development, and Lifecycle Management, ensuring strong pipeline health, on-time delivery, and alignment to business strategy
• Build and scale a high-performing global organization across Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, Verification & Validation, and Project Management
• Drive system architecture and platform harmonization across the portfolio to improve efficiency, scalability, and product quality
• Partner with Instrument R&D leadership to define technology roadmaps, critical capabilities, and workforce strategy required to enable future innovation
• Lead intellectual property strategy and open innovation efforts, including external partnerships, to strengthen competitive advantage and accelerate capability development
• Champion the Danaher Business System (DBS) to drive continuous improvement, innovation effectiveness, and predictable, high-quality delivery of complex systems

The essential requirements of the job include

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 20+ years of experience in medical device or regulated product development, or advanced degree with 18+ years of experience
• 6+ years of leadership experience managing global, cross-functional R&D or systems engineering organizations
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex, integrated systems from concept through commercialization in a regulated environment
• Deep expertise in systems engineering, system architecture, integration, and verification/validation methodologies
• Experience defining and executing product or technology roadmaps aligned to commercial and financial outcomes
• Experience leading large-scale programs, budgets, and resource planning across global teams

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel 75% of the time including international travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Direct experience in invitro-diagnostic (IVD) instrument development.

The annual salary range for this role is $325,000-$390,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
