Role Overview
Rho Nutrition is seeking a VP, Strategic Finance & Chief of Staff to serve as a senior strategic and financial partner to the founders. This person will help translate the company’s long-term vision into financially disciplined execution while owning many of the analyses, models and strategic initiatives behind the company’s most consequential decisions.
Sitting at the intersection of strategy, finance, operations and capital markets, this person will help determine where Rho should focus, where it should invest, how it should allocate capital and whether its most important initiatives are delivering the expected results.
This is not an administrative Chief of Staff role. It is a senior operating and strategic finance position for someone who can move seamlessly between building a sophisticated financial model, presenting the company’s financial story to investors, and driving a critical cross-functional initiative through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Decision Support
• Serve as a strategic and financial thought partner to the CEO and founders.
• Translate the company’s long-term vision into annual priorities, financial objectives and executable plans.
• Evaluate major growth opportunities, investments, partnerships, channels and product initiatives.
• Lead financial analysis and scenario planning for the company’s most consequential decisions.
• Pressure-test forecasts, business cases and strategic assumptions in partnership with the finance team.
• Partner with functional leaders to understand and validate the operational inputs underlying forecasts and financial models.
• Help leadership make disciplined capital allocation decisions across growth, brand, people, infrastructure and strategic opportunities.
Investor Relations, Capital Markets & Strategic Transactions
• Own investor relations and financial communications, including preparation for investor, board, lender and strategic partner meetings.
• Build and maintain sophisticated financial models supporting long-range planning, capital allocation, acquisitions and strategic transactions.
• Develop investor and transaction materials that clearly articulate the company’s financial performance, growth drivers, unit economics and long-term outlook.
• Represent Rho in financial discussions with investors, bankers, lenders and other external stakeholders, with a deep command of the assumptions and operational inputs underlying the company’s financial model.
• Support M&A and strategic transaction processes, including valuation, financial modeling, diligence and coordination with external advisors.
• Be capable of independently communicating and defending the company’s financial story and model to sophisticated investors and other external stakeholders.
Chief of Staff & Execution
• Drive execution of the founders’ highest-priority initiatives across the organization.
• Translate founder priorities into clear ownership, timelines, deliverables and accountability.
• Work across departments to ensure critical initiatives move from analysis and decision-making into execution.
• Improve the operating rhythm between the founders, executive leadership and functional teams.
• Identify emerging risks, performance gaps and organizational bottlenecks before they become larger problems.
• Ensure leadership has visibility into the company’s most important initiatives and where decisions or intervention are required.
• Prepare executive and board materials that clearly communicate performance, strategy, priorities and outlook.
Qualifications and Experience
• 8–15 years of experience across strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting and/or a high-growth operating environment.
• Exceptional financial modeling, analytical and strategic-thinking capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience with investor relations, M&A, capital markets or strategic transactions.
• Experience building and presenting complex financial models to investors, boards and senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable representing a company in sophisticated financial discussions and explaining the operational drivers and assumptions behind a model.
• Experience working directly with founders, CEOs or senior executive teams.
• Proven ability to lead important cross-functional initiatives from analysis through execution.
• Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how financial decisions affect customers, brands and operations.
• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication.
• High ownership, urgency, discretion and sound judgment.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment with a high degree of autonomy.
• Willing to operate at both the strategic and hands-on level.
• Consumer products, wellness, e-commerce or omnichannel experience strongly preferred.
What Does Success Look Like in This Role
Success in this role means the founders have greater clarity, the executive team has stronger alignment and the company’s most important priorities move faster.
The right person will become a trusted extension of the founders, bringing financial rigor to strategic decisions and ensuring those decisions translate into action.
They should be equally comfortable sitting with the founders deciding where Rho should invest, building the financial model behind that decision, presenting and defending that model to sophisticated investors, and then working across the organization to make sure the strategy actually gets executed.
