AI Summary

The VP of Population Health will lead and scale the Protect Seniors program, serving as the primary relationship owner for health plan and PCP partners. This role involves driving strategy, operational execution, and measurable clinical and financial outcomes across the company's ecosystem.

About the company

At Covera Health, we're on a mission to improve healthcare by making every diagnosis more accurate.

Every year, millions of patients receive imaging that shapes life changing medical decisions. Yet too often, important findings are missed, patients struggle to access high quality imaging, and the healthcare system treats radiology like a commodity instead of one of the most critical moments in a patient's care journey.

We're changing that.

Covera combines clinical expertise, advanced AI, and one of the industry's largest radiology quality datasets to help detect disease earlier, improve diagnostic accuracy, and give clinicians greater confidence in every decision they make. Better diagnoses lead to better treatment, fewer unnecessary procedures, lower healthcare costs, and, most importantly, better outcomes for patients.

In 2026, Covera and Medmo came together to create the first platform designed to support the entire radiology journey. From helping patients find and schedule high quality imaging, to coordinating care, to ensuring the accuracy of every diagnosis, we're building a connected experience that simply hasn't existed before.

Backed by Insight Partners, our platform supports nearly 6 million people across Fortune 10 and Fortune 100 employers, three of the five largest national health plans, and thousands of value based primary care physicians.

This is an exciting moment to join Covera. We're building technology that is helping detect serious conditions earlier, improving the quality of care for millions of patients, and redefining what healthcare can be. If you're excited by meaningful work, ambitious teammates, and the opportunity to help save lives through better healthcare, we'd love to meet you.

About the role

As Vice President of Population Health, you will lead and scale Covera’s Protect Seniors program, a core pillar of the company’s AI-driven quality platform. This role sits at the intersection of Customer Success and Operations - owning the performance and growth of a proven population health model while serving as the primary relationship owner for our health plan and PCP partners. You will partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team to drive strategy, execution, and outcomes, operating at the center of Covera’s ecosystem across payers, providers, and radiology partners to deliver measurable clinical and financial impact at scale. You will operate at the center of Covera’s ecosystem - working across payers, providers, and radiology partners - to deliver measurable clinical and financial impact at scale. This is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership requiring someone who combines deep Medicare Advantage fluency with the operational rigor and relationship building that it takes for driving growth, operational excellence, and long-term customer success.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Own end-to-end performance of the Population Health (“Protect Seniors”) value chain, from data intake through gap identification, partner engagement, gap closure, and outcome validation
  • Build and manage relationships with Customer executive sponsors, align on strategic objectives, manage expectations, and ensure overall satisfaction with the Population Health program
  • Partner closely with the Growth/Commercial team to align go-to-market strategy with execution capabilities on a market-by-market basis, ensuring deals are structured for successful delivery and long-term customer outcomes
  • Drive adoption of Population Health across the market by engaging ACOs PCP groups and radiology facilities to drive adoption and engagement with our programs
  • Steer the Executive Leadership Team in defining and executing the Population Health strategy, aligning departmental priorities and driving coordinated action across the organization to achieve optimal business outcomes
  • Serve as the primary point person for primary care provider partners in the market - driving meaningful engagement with clinical findings, building trust with PCP leadership, and ensuring providers are active participants in the program
  • Own implementation and deployment of Population Health programs, driving pilot success and ensuring conversion into long-term, scaled partnerships with provider organizations
  • Work deeply with a cross-functional internal team to plan and execute on Population Health priorities across product, tech, AI and analytics/reporting, readying the organization for scale
  • Establish KPIs for Population Health program success both internally and externally and work closely with the analytics team to measure and track on-going performance
  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with key accounts through proactive in-person engagement to demonstrate Covera’s commitment and deepen long-term partnerships
  • Play an active role in further building the Covera team by joining interview panels and contributing to cross-company projects after onboarding

Special Considerations:

The target total compensation for this role is base salary plus a performance incentive plan based on achieving certain customer success and operational program success goals.

Although we are a remote-first company, this role involves approximately 50% travel to meet with prospects and partners in-market, as well as to attend select industry events.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years healthcare experience, with some combination of healthtech start-up, consulting and/or enterprise healthcare (payor, provider) background
  • Deep Medicare Advantage experience, including strong understanding of value-based care and risk sharing arrangements between payors and providers
  • Proven track record collaborating with payors, providers, or both on high-priority, high-visibility initiatives
  • Background in customer success, account management, or population health operations - with a track record of retaining and growing complex, multi-stakeholder accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across teams at all levels of an organization, aligning resources and work efforts with business goals
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex topics simply and clearly
  • Unique combination of healthcare strategic thinking with execution orientation to drive impact
  • Humble, thoughtful leader with a high EQ and proven ability to build trust and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues and business partners
  • Comfortable operating in a startup environment without established infrastructure - bringing real ownership and an individual contributor mindset, proactively identifying problems and running toward solutions rather than waiting to be directed
  • Experience engaging directly with primary care physicians and PCP leadership with a demonstrated ability to build trust, drive clinical buy-in, and convert provider engagement into measurable outcomes
