The Territory Sales Account Manager drives accessory sales by building strong partnerships with dealership personnel and providing consultative support. They are responsible for achieving monthly sales objectives, delivering product training, and implementing promotional campaigns within their assigned territory.
About the role
The Territory Sales Account Manager (TSM) is responsible for driving GM and/or Ford accessory sales by developing strong partnerships with dealerships throughout an assigned geographic territory. This role works closely with dealership personnel to promote accessory programs, increase product sales, provide training, and ensure successful execution of established sales processes.
This is a field-based position that requires a self-motivated, results-driven professional with strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealership owners, general managers, sales managers, parts managers, service managers, and body shop personnel.
- Consult with dealership leadership to improve GM and/or Ford Accessories sales processes and increase dealership profitability.
- Achieve and exceed assigned monthly territory sales objectives aligned with GM and/or Ford dealership performance goals.
- Analyze dealership performance and identify opportunities to increase accessory sales and customer engagement.
- Design and implement customized accessory displays, point-of-sale materials, promotional campaigns, and dealership incentive programs.
- Deliver engaging training to dealership sales, parts, service, and collision center personnel on accessory products and selling techniques.
- Provide on-site sales coaching and ongoing dealership support throughout the assigned territory.
- Represent Southwest Accessory Group at divisional meetings, dealership events, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Maintain regular travel throughout the assigned territory while effectively managing schedules, customer visits, and follow-up activities.
Qualifications
- Proven success in outside sales, account management, business development, or dealership operations.
- Experience working with automotive dealerships is strongly preferred.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing a geographically assigned territory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires:
- Driving for extended periods
- Standing and walking throughout dealership facilities
- Reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for handling displays and marketing materials
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Repetitive movement associated with driving and computer use
- Ability to work an 8-hour or longer business day as needed
