About the Opportunity

The Lead, Technology & Operational Risk is a senior individual contributor within Enterprise Risk Management responsible for translating real-world technology and operational signals into measurable enterprise risk insights. This role helps Dayforce better understand how systems are built, changed, operated, recovered, and connected across Product, Platform, Cybersecurity, and Operations.

Operating within the second line of defense, this role provides governance, challenge, integration, and technical credibility while ensuring risk ownership remains with the first-line teams that own products, platforms, services, controls, and remediation. This role contributes to advancing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) from periodic, narrative-based reporting to more objective, signal-driven risk insights.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Support the development and ongoing management of technology and operational risk domains aligned to enterprise risk themes, including platform reliability, data integrity, dependency risk, change risk, service resilience, and operational disruption.
  • Translate enterprise risks into operational risk drivers, failure modes, system dependencies, and measurable indicators that reflect how Dayforce systems and processes operate in practice.
  • Develop and enhance Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) using objective signals from system performance, availability, incident trends, recovery behavior, change activity, capacity, scaling, observability, and third-party dependencies.
  • Partner with Product, Platform, Cybersecurity, IT Operations, and Major Incident Management teams to validate operational risks, confirm appropriate first-line ownership, and ensure risk signals are meaningful, actionable, and tied to business impact.
  • Connect major incidents, problem management trends, recurring failure patterns, and resilience gaps to enterprise risk insights, forward-looking indicators, and scenario analysis for high-impact technology risks.
  • Support the integration of ERM processes and tooling with operational and engineering data sources, ensuring technical risks are represented consistently in risk taxonomies, risk registers, dashboards, and systems of record.
  • Participate in risk councils and governance forums to challenge assumptions, normalize risk scoring, surface systemic dependencies, and provide technically grounded insights for executive and board-level risk discussions.
  • Support enterprise-wide risk initiatives across global financial and technology operations.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and continuous improvement of technology and operational risk practices.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple business and technology teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations related to control standards and execution practices across multiple regulatory frameworks.
  • Support enterprise modernization of controls through automation and monitoring.

Skills and Experience We Value

  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in technology risk, operational risk, enterprise risk management, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, infrastructure, technology operations, large-scale SaaS operations, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, operational resilience, incident management, observability, reliability engineering, service dependencies, change management, and technology failure modes.
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts, operational data, system behavior, and incident trends into business-relevant risk insights for senior leaders.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management, operational risk practices, risk taxonomies, control environments, risk appetite, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and second-line governance expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop metrics, thresholds, dashboards, reporting routines, or risk signal models that convert operational activity into measurable and actionable risk insights.
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and align senior technical and business stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment without direct ownership of remediation or operational execution.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and executive storytelling skills, with the ability to connect technical details to enterprise-level risk exposure and decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Risk Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

What Would Make You Stand Out

  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide technology and operational risk initiatives across global financial and technology operations.
  • Experience connecting major incidents, resilience gaps, and operational performance signals to enterprise risk reporting and scenario analysis.
  • Experience modernizing risk and control practices through automation, monitoring, and operational data.
  • Experience providing subject matter expertise across multiple regulatory and control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional risk initiatives across complex business and technology environments.
