AI Summary

This role is responsible for researching, mapping, and enabling technical integrations of payer prior authorization interfaces onto the company platform. The analyst will also triage integration issues and provide comprehensive documentation to support operations teams.

About the role

  • This is a mid-level individual contributor role, reporting to the Manager of Payer Integrations. This role is responsible for researching, scoping, mapping, and enabling the technical integration of payer prior authorization interfaces onto Rhyme's platform. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation — comfortable reading API documentation, interpreting data schemas, and mapping the components of workflows and systems — while also demonstrating the investigative instincts and communication skills needed to engage payer technical and product teams, extract critical information, and translate it into actionable integration artifacts for Engineering and Payer Operations.

  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, effectively managing timelines, resources, and expectations to ensure successful outcomes for multiple concurrent integration projects. This candidate should be results-driven, ambitious, and a quick learner looking to join a dynamic high-growth startup environment. This role is fully remote, with occasional travel required for in-person team meetings.

What you'll do

  • Research Payer Connectivity Options – Investigate and identify what prior authorization interfaces are available at a given payer, including web-based research, engagement with payer product and technical teams, and hands-on exploration of payer provider portals to assess their capabilities and roadmap.
  • Procure Payer Interface Documentation – Solicit and obtain technical documentation for payer API interfaces supporting prior authorization workflows, including auth submission, status inquiry, and FHIR-based standards such as CRD, DTR, and PAS.
  • Map Payer Interfaces to Rhyme Workflows – Analyze payer interface capabilities and determine how each maps to Rhyme's prior authorization automation workflows, identifying the right integration approach for each payer relationship.
  • Create Data Schema Maps – Develop detailed field-level maps between payer API interfaces and Rhyme's standard data model, enabling Engineering to correctly extract, interpret, and apply payer response data to case records.
  • Triage Integration Issues – During pilot phases and beyond, analyze integration issues to determine root cause — distinguishing between data mapping errors, code defects, and product capability gaps. Provide informed solutions for mapping issues, clear context and impact assessments for Engineering on code-level issues, and well-scoped capability gap summaries for the Product team.
  • Transfer Knowledge to Operations – Upon a payer integration reaching its success criteria, compile comprehensive documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions to the Operations team, equipping them to independently support and maintain integration components through their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with Engineering, Product, and Payer Operations to resolve integration challenges, advocate for the needs of the payer integration process, and contribute to the development of new platform capabilities.
  • Maintain Integration Documentation – Own and keep current all documentation related to payer integration processes, interface mappings, data schemas, and technical solutions.
