Your Responsibilities

The Teacher Recruitment and Selection Coordinator reports to the Director of Teacher Recruitment and supports the recruitment, selection and matching processes within the Teacher Recruitment department. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Review and evaluate teacher applications, conduct reference checks, and keep candidates moving through each stage of the selection process on time
  • Serve as a first point of contact for teacher applicants by managing the department inbox, responding to inquiries, and communicating selection decisions
  • Coordinate virtual teacher interviews, including scheduling, collecting applicant materials, preparing interview resources, and providing day-of support
  • Support the community-teacher matching process by recording, organizing, and preparing interview materials for Partner First Nations
  • Compile and maintain the Hiring Bulletin, monitor hiring needs on an ongoing basis, and distribute updates to Hiring Partner First Nations
  • Support recruitment and selection for the Educational Assistant Program, including outreach to Partner First Nations, distributing application materials, and coordinating selection with program partners
  • Maintain accurate records and data in Salesforce and Google Workspace
  • Post and maintain job ads on job boards and social media, and support targeted outreach to prospective northern teachers
  • Contribute to recruitment planning and reporting by gathering data, applicant feedback, and insight from Partner First Nations
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure a smooth handover of selected teachers and to maximize Gakino’amaage: Teach For Canada's collective impact

Job term: Full-time, contract (parental leave cover)

Contract duration: September 14, 2026 – June 9, 2028

Desired Experience: 1-2 years’ experience working in HR or related fields

Proven customer service skills

Experience working in an education setting would be a strong asset

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite

Location: This is a primarily remote (work-from-home) position. No regular travel is expected at this time, though occasional travel for meetings, in-person programming, and related work obligations may be required over the course of the contract, as directed by Gakino'amaage: Teach For Canada.
