Position Summary

The Tax Advisor, International Tax supports the Cigna Group global tax compliance, reporting, and tax accounting functions. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing U.S. international tax filings, performing tax accounting calculations including Pillar Two, GILTI, Subpart F, and Country-by-Country Reporting, and supporting international tax reporting requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with tax, finance, accounting, and international business teams to ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign tax regulations while contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review U.S. international tax filings, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993 and related schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations related to GILTI, Subpart F income, Pillar 2, Country by Country reporting, foreign tax credits (FTC), BEAT, PTEP and other international tax provisions.
  • Analyze financial information received from foreign subsidiaries and accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax reporting packages.
  • Analyze and reconcile tax return data to supporting workpapers, trial balances, and financial statements while identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with internal business partners and external advisors to gather information necessary for tax compliance and tax provision.
  • Prepare and support quarterly and annual tax accounting deliverables related to international operations, including tax provisions, Return-to-Provision, Current Tax Liability reconciliations, and related financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare tax accounting workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Assist in tracking uncertain tax positions and maintaining support records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within tax compliance and reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain standardized workpapers, templates, and documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Support international tax planning projects and restructuring initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience, public accounting experience, or a combination of both.
  • Understanding of U.S. international tax concepts and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tax software and reporting tools such as OneSource, Alteryx, or similar applications.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 100,400 - 167,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
