Own full-cycle recruitment processes across multiple client accounts while acting as a fractional HR partner. Partner with founders and hiring leaders to build search strategies, source talent, and implement inclusive people systems.

Hi, I’m Sarah, Senior Recruiter & Talent Advisor at Bloom. One of the things I’ve loved most about working with Bloom is the way we approach recruiting. We partner with thoughtful, founder-led and growing brands that care deeply about the teams and workplaces they’re building, which makes the work feel both strategic and genuinely personal.

For me, great recruiting comes down to curiosity, care and ownership. I love the search itself — getting creative with sourcing, building strong candidate relationships, asking the right questions and staying thoughtful about the experience on both sides.

As we grow our recruiting team, I’m excited to find someone who wants to work in that same way. You may already be an experienced recruiter, or you may be earlier in your career with strong instincts, good judgement and a real drive to keep learning. Either way, I’m looking forward to finding someone who genuinely cares about the work, the people, and building something great together.

This is a contract role (2-3 days per week) where you’ll act as a fractional HR partner for one of our clients, co-building, crafting, and implementing people systems that create the foundation for thriving, high-performing cultures. You’ll get to do meaningful, strategic work while still being hands-on with the day-to-day. And you’ll have the support of our Bloom collective beside you.

Who we are

At Bloom, we’re not your typical HR consultancy. We work with founder-led, purpose-driven companies who’ve made the smart choice to prioritize their people early. Most of our clients are small to mid-sized businesses (think 10–150 employees) that know building an intentional, inclusive culture doesn’t just happen—it takes work.

They care deeply about creating strong, scalable people systems that align with their values, but they don’t need a full-time HR hire just yet. What they need is an expert partner who can help them build it right the first time.

That’s where we come in.

We embed ourselves as fractional HR and DEI partners, providing leadership coaching, HR advisory, recruitment support, and the hands-on work of building policies, systems, and processes that are inclusive by design. Whether it’s making a client’s very first hire, designing progressive people policies, or guiding a founder through a tricky team challenge—we’re in it with them, doing the work that shapes high-performing, human-first workplaces. We don’t believe in band-aid solutions or corporate jargon. We believe in co-creating better workplaces with the people who are bold enough to build them differently.

About The Role

We're looking for a Sr. Talent & HR Advisor to join our team on a contract basis (2-3 days per week). This role is tied to a dynamic and ongoing client engagement, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a forward-thinking organization. This is a remote-first role open to candidates in Ontario, Canada, with occasional onsite client visits as needed.

Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about shaping workplace culture and driving talent strategy? We'd love to hear from you!

The Opportunity (Spoiler: You'll make a big impact)

We’re looking for an experienced Fractional Recruiting Partner to work across a portfolio of Bloom clients and lead thoughtful, strategic searches from kickoff through hire.

This is a hands-on recruiting role.

You’ll partner directly with founders and hiring leaders to understand their businesses, determine what they truly need from a hire, build the search strategy and then get into the work—sourcing, outreach, screening, candidate management and advising clients throughout the process.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the craft of recruiting.

Someone who gets excited about figuring out where great talent might be hiding, building relationships with people and helping clients make thoughtful hiring decisions.

You won’t simply take an intake call, post a job and wait.

You’ll be expected to think strategically, source creatively and act as a trusted advisor to both our clients and candidates.

What You'll Do
  • Own full-cycle recruitment processes across multiple Bloom clients, from intake through successful hire
  • Partner directly with founders, executives and hiring leaders to understand their businesses, teams and hiring needs
  • Translate role requirements into thoughtful and creative search strategies
  • Proactively source and engage talent across LinkedIn, referrals, communities, social channels and other relevant platforms
  • Build diverse, high-quality candidate pipelines using a multichannel approach to recruitment
  • Conduct thoughtful recruiter screens and assess candidates beyond résumé keywords
  • Provide candidates and applicants with a warm, transparent and care-centric experience throughout the hiring journey
  • Foster long-term relationships with candidates for both current and future opportunities
  • Advise clients on hiring practices through the lens of inclusion, equity and candidate experience
  • Recognize and respectfully challenge bias or unnecessarily narrow thinking within hiring decisions
  • Provide clients with regular search updates, market insights and meaningful recruiting analytics
  • Adjust sourcing strategies based on candidate feedback, market realities and search performance
  •  Collaborate closely with the Bloom collective while independently owning your searches and client relationships

You’ll Thrive Here If You
  • Genuinely love recruiting—the strategy, sourcing, conversations, relationship-building and problem-solving that come with it
  • Have strong full-cycle recruitment experience and are comfortable owning searches independently
  • Consider proactive sourcing a core part of recruiting, not a last resort
  • Are comfortable partnering directly with founders, executives and senior hiring leaders
  • Can operate as a trusted advisor rather than simply taking orders from a hiring manager
  • Are naturally curious and want to understand the business behind every role you recruit for
  • Take a creative, multichannel approach to finding talent, including inbound, outbound, referrals, networking, communities and social media
  • Care deeply about candidate, applicant and hiring-manager experience
  • Understand the power dynamics that exist within hiring and actively work to create more equitable and inclusive processes
  • Feel comfortable calling people in when bias may be influencing candidate evaluation
  • Are highly organized and able to move between different clients, roles and industries without losing attention to detail
  • Bring a problem-solving mindset when a search isn’t working rather than waiting for someone else to determine the next move
  • Communicate with warmth, clarity and professionalism
  •  Enjoy autonomy but also value having a collaborative team around you

Your Experience

We’re less interested in one perfect career path and more interested in how you approach the work.

You may have built your recruiting experience:

  • In-house within a high-growth or founder-led company

  • Within a boutique recruitment or search firm

  • As an independent or fractional recruiter

  • Across startup or scale-up environments

  • Through a combination of agency, consulting and internal talent roles

Experience with tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Lever and Asana is helpful.

Bonus points if you have experience recruiting within fashion, retail, beauty, consumer or e-commerce brands and/or have built strong talent networks across the United States and Canada.

Why Fractional Recruiting at Bloom?

Fractional work offers something traditional recruiting roles don’t always provide: variety, autonomy and the opportunity to become deeply involved in different businesses and hiring challenges.

At Bloom, you’ll have the independence to own your work without having to do it alone.

You’ll work alongside an experienced collective, have access to established systems and recruiting tools, and partner with exciting growing companies without carrying the responsibility of finding and managing every client yourself.

One week you may be building a search strategy alongside the founder of an emerging consumer brand. The next, you may be helping a growing company rethink how they assess leadership talent.

If you enjoy learning new businesses, solving interesting talent challenges and building meaningful relationships along the way, you’ll probably enjoy working with us.

Compensation + Location + Hours
  • $40.00 - $50.00 per hour . You will be joining Bloom via your corporation or as an independent contractor.
  • We are 100% remote and encourage folks to work where they can do their best work. That said, since we’re often meeting with clients, we expect contractors in the Bloom collective to conduct their work from a private, secure, and quiet space to ensure a distraction-free environment.
  • Clients assigned to this role will be in Eastern Standard time zone therefore the candidate will be required to work 9am-5pm ET.

The Interview Process
  • Initial screen: 30-min video interview with Sarah (HR & Talent Advisor)
  • Round 1: 45-minute video interview with Avery Francis (Founder and CEO)

  • Round 3: Final video interview with Avery Francis (Founder and CEO)

$40 - $50 an hour
At Bloom, we treat compensation as an open, honest dialogue. Early in the interview process, we’ll confirm that you’re comfortable with a salary within the listed range. From there, as you learn more about the role and the full compensation package, we always welcome you to share if your expectations shift. We’ll also have three check ins throughout the process to make sure we’re staying aligned so that by the time we get to an offer, it feels clear, fair, and mutual.

Our use of AI in hiring

We believe transparency matters, especially as technology evolves. At Bloom, we may leverage AI as a supportive tool when developing role descriptions, interview questions, take home assignments, and interview guides, where appropriate, with the goal of improving clarity, consistency, and accessibility for candidates. However, we do not use AI to source, assess, screen, or interview candidates. Every application is reviewed by a human, every interview is conducted by a human, and all hiring decisions are made by people, not automated systems. Human judgment, care, and accountability are central to how we hire.

We care deeply about offering all applicants a fair and consistent selection process. While we’d love to connect with every candidate individually, we’re unable to accommodate one-on-one conversations before the interview stage. Keeping our process structured helps us reduce bias and ensure we’re selecting facilitators based on skills, experience, and alignment with our mission.

Bloom is committed to equity and inclusion in our hiring. If you’re a person with a disability and require accommodations during the application process, please reach out to erica@buildwithbloom.com—we’ll work with you to meet your needs at every stage. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, including those from historically marginalized communities.

We know there are many great opportunities out there, so we appreciate you considering Bloom as part of your journey!
