Sr. Principal Consultant, Oracle EPM Planning & Budgeting

Position Summary

This is a full-time role for a Sr. Principal Consultant, Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting. The Sr. Principal Consultant is responsible for leading the implementation and support of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Planning and Budgeting solutions, including Free Form and Narrative Reporting. Day to day tasks include leading and mentoring a team of consultants, conducting needs assessments, designing and configuring systems, providing end user training, and offering ongoing support to ensure the success of implementation projects across multiple concurrent engagements.

The Sr. Principal Consultant works closely with clients to understand their business requirements and tailor solutions to meet those needs effectively, and is expected to assess and advise on leading practices across both functional and technical areas.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and design Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting projects, including Free Form and Narrative Reporting
• Architect end-to-end Planning and Budgeting solutions, translating complex client requirements into scalable Free Form and Narrative Reporting designs
• Build leading practice solutions, including Essbase rules, Narrative Reports, and Data Exchange integrations
• Write and maintain Groovy scripts to extend application functionality
• Lead multiple project solutions simultaneously
• Manage and coordinate project teams of 2 to 4 consultants across simultaneously active engagements
• Provide technical oversight and quality review of solution builds delivered by project team members
• Own the resolution of complex, cross-functional design issues that span multiple workstreams within an engagement
• Conduct client needs assessments and translate business requirements into system design
• Configure and test EPM applications to meet client specifications
• Deliver end user training and provide ongoing post-implementation support
• Apply strong functional knowledge of financial planning and budgeting to inform solution design
• Lead and mentor a team of consultants across assigned projects
• Contribute to the development of internal implementation methodology, templates, and reusable assets for the Planning and Budgeting practice
• Facilitate design and requirements workshops with client stakeholders across multiple engagements
• Lead client discussions to gather and validate business requirements across multiple engagements
• Present solution designs and recommendations to client stakeholders with clarity and confidence
• Provide regular status, risk, and progress updates to Delivery leadership across all assigned engagements
• Communicate complex functional and technical issues to Delivery leadership on a timely basis
• Effectively manage client relationships during complex system implementations
• Tailor solutions to each client's business requirements and industry context
• Assist sales by contributing to scoping, estimating, and solution discussions
• Act as a point of escalation for client concerns raised during implementation
• Assess and provide leading practices to clients on both functional and technical matters
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables, configurations, and documentation across assigned projects
• Provide quality assurance oversight across multiple concurrent project solutions
• Establish and monitor quality checkpoints across concurrent project builds to reduce rework and ensure consistency
• Maintain and pursue relevant Oracle EPM certifications
• Be a valued contributor on ad-hoc projects and firm initiatives
• Must be willing to travel and work in various business locations or remotely as applicable
• All other duties as assigned

Position Outcomes/Objectives and Standards of Performance

1.Ensures Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions are developed and implemented successfully across multiple engagements.

Application implementation for all assigned projects is completed on schedule and meets the agreed upon expectations as outlined to the client. Solution development results in streamlined planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, as confirmed by client feedback.

2.Leads resolution of complex functional and technical issues during and after implementation.

Implementation and post-implementation support is provided on complex problems to resolve client concerns in a timely manner. Issues beyond project scope are properly escalated to Delivery leadership, and the agreed solution is effectively coordinated through development, build, and test.

3.Effectively manages relationships with clients during complex system implementations.

Feedback from clients indicates overall satisfaction with communication and delivery. Escalated issues are dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Support is provided both virtually and on-site as required.

4.Leads multiple project solutions simultaneously and mentors project team members.

Provides guidance and oversight to consultants across assigned projects, acts as a resource for less experienced team members, and assesses and provides leading practices to clients both functionally and technically.

Maintains and expands relevant Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting certifications and stays current on product and industry developments.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• No less than 8 years of experience leading and implementing solutions for a variety of clients across a variety of industries
• 7 to 10 full lifecycle Oracle EPM implementations completed, including 5 to 8 led in a lead consultant capacity
• Oracle EPM certification required, including Oracle EPM Budgeting and Planning Cloud; 2 or more
• High level of experience presenting to and engaging with senior client and executive stakeholders
• Experience implementing for Public Sector industry clients is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Skills

• Expert level technical knowledge and experience building Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions, including designing leading practice solutions, building Essbase rules, Narrative Reports, and Data Exchange integrations
• Strong Groovy script writing experience preferredStrong functional knowledge of financial planning and budgeting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated experience with MS Office
